The TASSELS!

My wonderful boyfriend bought me a Legacy Signature shoulder penny purse for Christmas. He walked into the store and picked it out himself, I am so proud of him! Immediately when I opened the box, he said, "I have one request. Remove the tassels!"

I showed the bag to a friend and shared this story, to which he replied, "Eww! Listen to the man for once!"

Even my gay best friend was anti-tassel.

So I'm curious, how does everyone here feel about the tassels? Has anyone removed theirs?
Omg no! I love the tassles! If i didnt want the tassles so bad, i would looked for a vintage one on ebay and saved myself the $!

I hated the tassels when the preview of the Legacy line was released. I purchased the cobalt large duffle and b/c the tassels are the same colour, I think they added a little something to the bag. Then, I discovered the tassel fobs and the obsession began...I now LOVE the tassels and have an emerald and metallic fob. I use the emerald on my keys and the metallic on my bags. They are so well made.

If you hate them, take them off. As much as I love the Coach tags on my bags, sometimes they get in the way and I remove them.

I love tassles too, the bigger the better like the ones on Anna Sui duffles, maybe not all guys think they're all that bad. I saw a guy in a store once looking at tassles in different colors, in my head "that's so sweet, he must be looking dor a present for his gf or wife to accessories her bags".. hmm, but since you mentioned that, now I'm not so sure what he was thinking LOL

I originally did not care for the tassels. I do have to say they have grown on me. I also did not think they could be removed! I will look into this when I get home. I have a textured rory in cement and when I first got it, I wanted to remove the tassels but for some reason I thought the knot was glued or sewn together since it seemed really hard for me to try to undo. I think I now like the tassels, but now I am curious to see the bag de-tasseled! :smile1:

I LOVE the tassels. I'm OBSESSED with them. So much I actually bought two handmade tassel keychains on Etsy (sooo worth it. The leather was unbelievably buttery :p). I have a Fuchsia leather Penny and I always keep the tassels on it. The only time I take the tassels off is when I'm using the bag as a clutch. But as a crossbody/shoulder bag, the tassels stays on.

One thing I don't like about these tassels is they're too stiff. If they were softer and buttery I would have liked them 100x more.

I agree about the stiffness. The tassels on the dragonfly are really nice and soft. Some people in the rehab thread have made their own.

Some of the pictures of the bags in the Coach site show the tassels as being more flared. I definitely like that look better and have been working on making them flare more. Not too much but more than just having them straight and flat--that fresh out of storage look.

I was thinking the same thing! But I wasn't kidding! :-)

I wish you could buy just the tassels because I would love to mix and match.
