After the doctor, a visit to H is well earned. Great strategy! I learn from you

Being a doctor myself, does that mean I may visit H after seeing myself in the mirror? :coolio::graucho:

You know, I saw that in the store but thought it was an actual bag! I even told the SA that that was the cw I wanted and she didn't say that it was a scarf tied into a bag! (If so, I'd like to know how that's done!) She went to check stock and said they didn't have it anymore and that no one in the US had it either. Very strange because this was a really experienced SA - she said she had been with H almost 20 years. Well, there's nothing like having a good excuse to return to H! or I could just order it online as PBP sagely suggested. I hadn't thought to check the website for it, silly me!

P.S. Good eye, Maedi! You remind me of one of my childhood literary heroes, Encyclopedia Brown. He was a kid that solved mysteries by being insanely observant. [emoji851][emoji106]

I think this is what they did to "your" scarf. Go back and get it, you already have so many things that match, lippy included.
You deserve a giant carre, because you are a treasure to us scarfies!
Love your posts!:flowers:

Joannadyne, I just want to mention how much I enjoy your posts. Your writing style is so frank and funny, it's like chatting with a friend. I'll assume that the mammo was normal, so in spite of the indignity of the chestal assault, that's all good news! I say "wait for the Parures." A substitute will not soothe the craving (at least, it doesn't for me).
Also love your photos, by the way.

I do not wish to derail the convo, but I feel compelled to put in writing something I learned the hard way. Anyone no matter the gender please, please be sure to request any test results, any surgical/hospital reports in writing. Not once but twice I had an abnormal test result that fell through the cracks. What should have been a relatively small fix turned into full on disability that has forever affected my quality of life. Now on a happier H note, a Samurai guards my home office door, a temporary station. He shall slay anyone who enters!

Joannadyne, thank you for the smile. Wit is a gift which is worth its weight in gold, imho. Laughing trumps crying any day, any time.

It's just beautiful on you, dear frou frou. Congratulation!

Love this on you, froufrou!:heart::heart:

Froufrou, I am shocked to read this. Your pix always look so confident and easy! I order you to wear a scarf every day! [emoji12]

FrouFrou:flowers: I agree with your description. Minimal dressing and scarves seem to be so hard to not look formal! I wonder how so many tPFers are able to make scarves look so casual!:flowers: I especially find 90 cm to be extremely formal compared to large formats. You wear this scarf so well!:flowers:

Thanking you all for your kind comments on this very off the radar scarf !
Momasaurus It's not so much a confidence issue as that I am inveigled into buying for beauty's sake so many scarves that are just way too formal for me .I should learn ,and am trying to cultivate the restraint needed to say no to a silk, however lovely !!
Julide I'm best in graphic scarves with movement in the design which seem to work fine with my Margaret Howellesque wardrobe.

i thought I would be safe from the much loved Samurai which has huge detail and formality in the design , but as ever the sheer beauty and the fact it's by Aline Honoré are making me waver.
I tried a few yesterday and now I realise why so many are going weak kneed over it .

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! Moma, this is a true treasure on you! How gorgeous is that?!

I, too, like dear litchi, have not yet popped my 140 twill [emoji523]. The great thing with H scarves is having so many [emoji523] [emoji523] [emoji523] to pop! So it's easy to feel that wedding-night excitement when you find a new format that works for you.

And boy, I think I should have listened to MYH long ago and boarded that 140 train. I was intimidated by all that fabric ... but I was wrong, so wrong. 140s are really easy to wear!

So ... I went back to H today to court the beautiful Parures Precieuses and really play with her. I simply couldn't get it out of my mind. As BBC said, there is something about this regal shade of purple - it powerfully lures you in with its siren's song. I love the high-contrast colors with the green fronds against the purple backdrop. The design is just lovely.

Plus I was in a celebratory mood. The past few days have been high-stress at work (though everything wound up better than expected) and I had my first mammogram today. It just so happened that the radiology center was a couple blocks from my H store, heh heh heh. After being squashed to the point of flabbiness, the girls just needed their dignity back, dagnabit! Here's proof! How sad is this, I ask? Here I am in a shapeless gown (obviously NOT designed by H) having survived the Great Smooshing of 2017.

I was literally quite deflated.

So I whisk myself away to H. I look for Parures Precieuses. I don't see it anywhere! Oh, noooooo! An SA tries to help but comes back and says there are none in the USA.

"But ... but ... I don't understand - it was just here four days ago," I stammer in disbelief.

"Yes, well, with Hermes, you need to pounce when it's in stock," she says, ever-so-cruelly. "I think it's how they train customers."

Augh! I meekly try on another cw:

The false smile belies my heart. This cw does not cheer me up. I still crave the purple beauty.

I console myself by trying on a few other things from this season:

Mors a Jouets, cw 3, I think.

Yes, it confirms my suspicion that I definitely need 140s in my life.

Mayhaps another Samourai will cheer my doleful heart... I try 07 and 13 again:

I can't decide, so I leave. So the question I put to you, dear tpfers, is this: Should I wait for Precieuses or go with another samurai and if so, which one? WHICH ONE????

Awwww....I'm so sorry they didn't have it for you!! Yeah, I don't think that's a bag behind you - they can untie and steam it for you (I've bought off the mannequin before). I do think you should wait, it's a completely different color and format, although I do like the cw7 on you.

I always go to H directly after a mammo/sono or OBGYN appointment. If I need a further test (I've had a few biopsies) I go then, too. It makes me less bad about the appointment and something I look forward to.

Oh my good lord, that is ridiculously gorgeous on you, BBC!

Well, your beautiful shots make it utterly clear that I need this in my collection!

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait. I forgot summer school payment is due for the kidlet this month and DH just called to say his car died and needs extensive work.

This is my grieving process, as told through emojis: [emoji33][emoji32][emoji27][emoji24]

This is a Great Idea! I love the thought of commemorating the experience with a My First Mammogram scarf! (I may need to scrounge through couch crevices to fund this this time around... [emoji30])

In a few years, I can get a My First Colonoscopy scarf, though I think a CSGM might be more appropriate for that.

Oh no!!!! I'm sorry it's an "expensive month". [emoji51] for you I am sending [emoji51][emoji1374][emoji92][emoji848][emoji254][emoji385][emoji256][emoji177][emoji8] thoughts

I need this!!! No doubt. Btw, I need that jaw line too!

Yes, I am so envious of BBC's sleek and sculpted cheek and jaw line! Sigh. I can only create that for myself by holding the phone at extreme downward angles.

I am sending you both huuuuuuuge hugs for the sweet comments. And here I was worried that my chin looked pointy! My main inspiration is my husband. He is skinny. I have to stay smaller than him!

You are totally cracking me up!!!! Not that that's a bad idea....[emoji848][emoji1360]

I am going for my first mammogram soon too! I like the idea of getting a H scarf to commemorate the experience. Despite H being nowhere near the radiology center, it is worth the drive.

Too bad I already had a colonoscopy in my 20s and that was pre discovering H. But at least I am prepared for the indignity of it.

Jonnadyne, go get that purple Parures from H.com!

I am so sorry for you and very kind of you to share your experience. I think you deserve a chèvre b or k:smile:
