Hello scarf friends! This is my very first post to tPF. I'm a relatively new H scarf collector and have been lurking for a while -- learned so much on this forum! I wanted to share with you my Maharani CW 09 red/lilac/sulphur yellow. It is so much more vibrant and pretty than the picture on H.com, I really love it! My first purchase at a boutique. Never thought I would own a red scarf (I'm all about the cool-toned colors) but I put it on and both the SA and I both said at the same time "that's gotta go home with you!". I think the liberal amounts of grayed lavender and subtle blues, purples, and grays help it to be versatile. The sulphur yellow is a lovely pale clear tone that does not overpower. My scarf tying and photo skills need some work but I hope this give you a sense of it.View attachment 3616675 View attachment 3616676
Dreamy colors and shapes... Congrats!

Thank you! You need this one, it is so versatile! Check out the CW that Susie Tunes posted  , there is no "bad" choice in CW for this scarf! Please say "hello" for me if you stop by :hugs:

All I have to say, is that I am so glad that I did not see this CW when I picked mine up. My budget was for one 90, not two! Thank you for the beautiful pictures!

I've a feeling c/w 07 may come home with me this week....oops [emoji6]

Beautiful scarf! Great choice for a first purchase. Welcome. Also love the scarf ring!

Sending many thanks to all who have posted! Always so helpful, and also so fun, to see what everyone chooses. The excitement of the current season, scarf thread always makes it one of my favorites!

Here is my first purchase from the SS17 collection. This is my favorite pattern of the current offerings, and I'd happily welcome more colorways into my collection, in either format!

I've been buying H scarves since 1986, and there is definitely a difference in the way they feel now... or at least, there can be a difference for specific scarves. When I bought Mythes et Metamorphoses a couple of seasons ago (AW2014) is was extremely stiff and did not drape at all well. I bought it anyway, because I loved the design, but it took two washings with The Laundress to get enough of the sizing out of it that it would drape.
Now I realize that scarf-washing isn't for everyone, but I have been washing my scarves for years and I have it down to a no-fail system. Other than MetM, I haven't felt the need to wash any of my recent purchases, but I have noticed that it takes at least 10 wearings before most of them soften up enough to drape properly. (I do lightly steam my scarves after I wear them, which also helps.) On the other hand, this isn't true of all new issues! For example, Under the Waves was wonderfully soft the minute it came out of the box, and so was Sieste au Paradis.
If you think you might want to wash a scarf, there is an excellent thread on this subject on tPF. Good luck!
The stiffness a few years ago was the reason why I turned away from Hermes and bought other brands. I grew up with Hermes scarves from the 70's and 80's and did not like the stiff paper-like feeling.

Last year I touched some Hermes scarves and liked what I touched.:heart:
