Thank you, dharma, klynneann, katekluet, and lovely64. It's nice to know there's some practical purpose to 20+ years of study, then teaching of art history—to interpret Hermès!

I'm still surprised H would chose Flaneur as a theme; that's rather a heady choice. But if this is true, I'm going to be over the moon. The Flaneur has been my model for life since I was in my mid-20s.

Arabesques, thank you for that amazing explanation!

Upon seeing the theme, I was struck by a more modern interpretation of the Flaneur in the scheme of today's social media and digital "crowd". I'm in a creative industry myself and it's through careful and continual observation of the crowd that I form the ideas and basis for many of my creative endeavors. There are many bloggers, Instagram personalities and the like that I would consider a modern Flaneur if I'm understanding the concept correctly. Would you consider today's bloggers who document their strolls through life and cities Flaneurs? As you yourself are a blogger, what do you think? :smile1:

I have to admit something . . . I haven't studied the new scarves. The initial descriptions and images haven't attracted (aside from the reissue Brazil in 70cm). The theme alone made me reconsider the 7 scenes of Paris scarf, so I'd have to look at them again in consideration of 21st century flaneurism. But on blogs as flaneur activity, why not? I'm not sure I've thought of mine as a flaneur activity, although it might document some things that strike me when out in flaneuse or "hunt the poetry" mode. I would more consider my official art work a product of being a flaneur, as I feel my blog too much celebrates consumption to be "flaneur" derived a-la Baudelaire or Benjamin. But also—this is the first time I've even considered the question. Maybe it's time to create a personal manifesto on the 2015 flaneuse blogger and try it out?

Thank you for the good food for thought!

 I'm still in lust over half a dozen scarves from 2014 still, so I'm NOT LOOKING beyond the Paris one. I swear. Sort of.

portes palais has a lot of baga cws. bouquets has more harmonious cws, altho there was at least one that baga could do. :smile1:

lol!

yes! 140cm mous, that is!

never say never, but doubtful.
i checked the mous selection for u today and nope.

Thank you for your wise counsel, seton! You are my scarf/shawl consultant! :smile1:

OK peeps, I saw three new designs in CSGM. De La Mer Au Ciel (Violet, Orange, Vert), Aux Portes du Palais, and Bouquet Sellier. Bouquet Sellier came home with me. In Aux Portes du Palais, I saw three cws. One had a brownish edge, one had a burnt orange edge with light blue and dark blue in the middle (almost pastelly in my opinion), and one in blues and cream (kind of like the licorne shawl I think either chincac or lanit has (sorry I can't remember who has this one).

I was going to wait until tmrw for better light but since I took it out to play, I thought I would snap a few pics. I loved it at the boutique but now that I have it home I'm having second thoughts...depending on how you tie it, can be subdued or a riot of colors. I hate when this happens. I would prefer to love it at home too! Ok here we go. Picture heavy post.

I really like the idea.

:woohoo: Thanks! I wish I could see the pics you posted below but my tpf is acting up again...

ok, I was able to take a look inside the drawers . . .

I saw 3 cws of Aux Portes du Palais cashmere GM shawl.

violet/orange/vert
vert/rose/jaune
bordeaux/vert/mauve

Very vibrant colors. The violet/orange/vert cw is perfect for someone like OrangeBliss.

I saw one La Mer CSGM: CW07 Mauve/Gris/Poitron. It was gorgeous! Winner, winna, chicken dinner (or in this case, seafood dinner!)

I saw more cws of Bouquets but didnt try them on.

There were no 2015 90cms yet.

Thank you, seton! Color information is essential for me otherwise I am at a loss...
