Hello stylemechanel,
In the early stages of my scarf collection, I likened myself to a drug addict. I NEEDED my fix at H every few days. Then I got my fix on a weekly basis. Before I knew it, Ihave been visiting H bimonthly. Recently I discovered I only get 'genres' I do not possess. For me, this H scarf obsession is like releasing a starving child at a buffet. Of course the hungry child eats everything in sight quickly at the beginning. In time, he becomes more discerning & eats slowly. Finally he will pick food that is truly outstanding! He will stop altogether when he is full(I am still not at this stage yet)!:p

Storage is indeed a headache. The truth is, I also get bags, shoes, jewelry & the like. Yes, my wardrobe is bursting at the seams. So I put some orange boxes in the guest room. I hope I don't end up storing the boxes in the cats' room.

Do show us your acquisitions! It is such a joy to view all these 'objects of beauty'!
DLee - yes, this is me too! I have definitely slowed down especially since I have every scarf under the rainbow to match my whim and outfit for the day. And to be honest, now that I have moved to LA and am about 45 min from the closet H boutique, I feel my stomach is getting full. I used to live only 10 min away from my local boutique and that was way too convenient to just stop by. And lucky for me I detest paying shipping fees, so even the online website is not too much of a temptation for me. Although....since I am in the market for a new house I might move onto H furnishings.:graucho:

Hey MYH!! Welcome to Cali!! This is my favorite design of the season minus Phoenix of course. Gorgeous on you!

Does anyone know the cws availabe of this? I have only seen three that someone listed yesterday. Chestnut? GOT INTEL?
Thanks dear! :hugs: big downside of Cali is sales tax on H scarves and state income tax rates! but the weather....makes it all worth it.

I am loving this Pegase scarf. I am big on modern prints so couldn't resist adding it to my collection. Like you though, I have not seen a lot of cws.

I guess every H scarf lover goes thru' similar stages! Ï feel glad for u & myself that at the present stage, we are more & more discerning & will not be making blanket purchases again. Unlike u, a few H shops are still within a quarter of an hr by car from my home. I still visit H to browse when I am in the neighborhood. Usually I request my SA to hold things for me but when I come to my senses the following day, I call the SA to release the items to other shoppers! I exercise much better restraint now.:smile1:

Not only is your analogy perfect to understand but you do it in a way that really hits home. Of my 6 scarves there are 3 that I absolutely love: cheval fleuri, mythiques phoenix, and mors & gourmettes (the first one I ever bought in 2010 and never opened until I bought cheval fleuri last month). The others only look nice in the box, and the colors do not wow me until I wrap them around my neck and then I love them - the colors help to brighten my skin tone and I must admit I love that it covers up my 50 plus year old neck. I have been fortunate that this time I found an SA who is warm, gracious, and great at color.

I have already moved my scarves and boxes to a new spot and I can see that I will have to continually reorganize and move as this collection grows. When my son moved out I took over his room - maybe it is time to redo his closet....... hummmmm....::thinkin: :D

Tomorrow I am taking my daughter and her friends who are home for spring break and visiting California for the first time to Rodeo Drive. We will be stepping into Hermes to look at the beautiful silks and maybe I will find one to bring home, again, for the 7th time. I guess I am still hungry like you.

Thank you again for your original post, your encouraging to post photos(which I hope to do this weekend) and your help D Lee!! I was getting a little anxiety about how fast this could grow and worried about storage. :hugs:

PS If it wasn't for Nico I probably would not have posted, her encouragement led me to your post. I am so grateful I found it. A big thanks to Nico and you!

Hello everybody,
First post in his thread, not yet acquired a 2014 scarf, but simply had to chime in re. the hungry child syndrome! Got my first and for a very long time H scarf, Cliquetis, black and gold, decades ago, used it and loved it to bits, then forgot all about H, no shop in sight here. Then, reading tPF Lalas Growing Garden, got the bug BIG time. Got about forty scarves from various sources, mostly the evil bay, and only one store fresh, FSH last autumn (CDC pattern). Quickly by searching found umphteen Holy Grails, ticked off two from evil bay as we speak, who needs ANYTHING else when covered in sumptous silks?? Still so many to hunt, and searching equally growing HG list.
I wish us all a fruitful spring!

CocoSoCo, I totally blame you for my latest acquisition. Already had this in a 90cm, but your mod shot was so enabling!! Plus the idea of wearing MP in the summer had me drooling.

Looks great on you! I have it in a 90 too, but with this one, I love that it can be worn in the rain or in hot weather. Congratulations!!! Now they just need to make it in a CSGM and we'd be set.
