Has anybody noticed that the hand feel of the vintage silk in the 70s this season is different to that of previous seasons? I was in my local store at the weekend and the 70s felt like a softer, washed, lived-in twill. For the last few seasons the vintage silk - on close inspection - has had a slightly harsher uneven surface and the accuracy of the printing seemed to suffer on that. I was impressed by this season's vintage silk and the quality of the silk screening which seemed to be much sharper than heretofore and did greater justice to the designs. I had always been put off by the previous 70s as they didn't feel quite right to me and the printing was nowhere near the state of the art I like in the 90cm twills but this could be the season for Tropiques, Cordages and Coach for me :-)

I think it took me less than 10 seconds to say yes to this. LOL

Pollywaffle and teha congratulations, golden beauty

I am really interested in this design, even this cw and no chance of getting to H in the working week. Could I possibly beg you on bended knee to supply a few modeling shots? *emoticon: as if praying*

Very interesting.

My 70s have only been bought from the past few seasons and are very soft (ClFetes, J'aime mon Carre, Clic-Clac). I was reluctant to try 70s for other reasons, I thought maybe they weren't so versatile as 90s, although I am finding that they are. I wasn't aware of any past problems, the detail on J'aime and ClF could not have worked at all had the print not been crisp so I'm glad H stepped-up.

I know, they are only twillies but I get so excited about things...Thanks for letting me share Psyche with Violet Carmen for Alezan B.
Sparkle, it looks great with miss Alezan!!!
I forgot to answer one the question but I think my twilly Cw is 03 abre de vie. Looks Pretty on bright bag too.
I love this pattern and this colorway looks great on gold!!!

That's an interesting observation, I got a couple when they first came out as it was a reissue of an hg design, but don't wear them as they are too slippery!

There is that. They don't work with most scarf rings, only my mors. I think they have to be tied a bit tighter and silk-on-silk :graucho:

On the plus-side they don't need so much ironing :D

Of coarse! I don't know why I hadn't thought of that, I'll get on it. I'll need to do it on a day I'm not coming off a 12 hour shift in the ER because it's not pretty after and neither am I, no ma'am!

:). Though i must say, 12 hour shift or not, everything's beautiful with an H scarf :). Now, the functioning part... Yes, better get some rest first! :). Wow.. I can not imagine 12 hours in the ER! Hats off to you!

Can't wait to see your pics :)

That's an interesting observation, especially as I have noticed a huge difference in the texture of the silk of the 140cms. My 2 Lalbhai are very fluid and smooth. My newer Kachinas and Equateur are definitely crisper. I figured maybe that was because the Kachinas was an A/W item, but Equateur is definitely "Summer Silk", as Lalbhai was. Or am I wrong on that?

I can't help much on the 70s; the C'est la Fetes were the first I've purchased in several years.

Interesting you say that BBC as when I was talking to one of the SAs about it she just very brightly concurred that there were seasonal differences with the cashmere scarves as well. I conclude then that, because we are dealing with organic things mainly handmade, we'll all just have to enjoy the variation and the gorgeous summer twills will probably be the same.

I desperately wanted the 70cm of Epaulettes last season but couldn't love it in the flesh ( not for £220 anyway) because I didn't like the texture and the printing looked indistinct but those 'faults' - it being all a matter of personal taste - seem to have disappeared in the current season's 70s.

papertiger, Junglelove, lanit: thanks a lot! I love this CW and design!
