Hi fellow speedy lovers, I'm looking to join the speedy club and am interested in the speedy b 25 in black empreinte. My one concern is that I've heard a few people mention that the side/corners cave in after a few months of use, even when a bag insert is used (I've asked this before and received one great response but thought maybe my question would get more traction here). I was wondering what your experience with your bag as been. Here is a pic - not mine but someone who owns this beauty who posted on IG. Thank you!

Yikes! Beautiful bag but wow, what causes the side seams to cave in, even when you have a bag insert? Odd.

I'm not sure if this bag has an insert (I am guessing not). But I have heard of other bags that had inserts that still caved in after a few months (but not to the same extent as the bag in the pic).

I just purchased a speedy 20 mono. What do you guys use to decorate your bags? I would like to hang a clochette on it and have it jest stamped, but not sure LV will let me order one?

I had my chance to get the made in US one the day before the price increase (unknowingly!) So now I am even more determined to wait. Am I searching for a unicorn?

Hi @Teddigrrrl Happy Canada Day!!I totally get you lol. I too was only searching for MIF a few years back, and had SA's in a few provinces check for me. I was determined and the waiting did pay off, so hang in there. Is it difficult? yes. It took about 9 months of waiting for my monogram Speedy 25. This one came from LV @saks which sadly is now closed.
My SpeedyB 25 in DE was a fluke. Walked into the Bloor street flagship, and they had just received it. My Neverfull wash shipped from the Calgary store.

@PrayersandPurses congratulations on your find! Did you walk into stores to ask or kept calling around? I cant get through to an LV store directly on the phone as they route you to a central call center. Any tips on how to hunt this unicorn down? Happy canada day to you too!

I am but I dont think she is really good. She didnt even know the neverfull was being "locked off" etc. Even as it was happening...

I would still go the LV Boutique Route. If there is another in your area - even if it’s a little farther away, try that. I did and was successful!

@PennyPurse so all you did was just walk into any boutique and ask them to check each bag? Did you get any attitude about it from the sales people or generally friendly? I don't know what the "protocol" is as I am just starting getting into the luxury handbag market. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yes! A couple of months ago, I walked in cold to a LV Boitique about 35 miles away from me and politely asked the SA, if I could see a Croisette (DA) and Speedy 20 (Mono) and would prefer MIF. He said, “Let me take a look in back” and came out with the Croisette - made in the USA, and the Speedy 20 - MIF. I bought the Speedy 20 on the spot! Still waiting for the MIF Croisette!

I will say though that the USA made Croisette was beautifully constructed. And if I cannot find one MIF, I will buy the US made one from him!

If I may ask, why does everyone want a MIF bag so much? Is quality that bad if it's made in US or Spain?

For me it’s sentimental. I cannot speak for Spain, but what I’ve seen coming out of the US lately, is quite good! In fact, I am very happy with my Pochette Métis - made in the USA and purchased in late 2021.

I kept all my made in France bags, especially in DE print (including one Speedy b 25 DE), yes, extremely difficult to get in US, on the second hand market I saw made in France ones 99% are used.
