Hi LVoes....would love your feedback on this new speedy 25 classic I just picked up from Fashionphile. I paid abt $40 over the current LV price. It came with everything....box, dustbag, lock/2 keys, and the ribbon/giftcard. It's brand new and looks like someone bought it and didn't want to return it. There are a few things upon inspection that aren't perfect. A little wrinkling under the pull tab, a small slightly darker spot on the handle (looks like it would blend in with a little patina) and the canvas comes over a bit on the piping on one side (not sure if this normal..I have 5 other speedy's and the piping doesn't look like this).

Here's my question y'all. I don't have an SA to call and this is always sold out online. Should I keep this bag, try to order it via customer service OR order a mon monogram speedy 25? I'm not worried about resell with the mon monogram as it would be a forever bag.

These don’t appear to be serious issues, but I think you could find one brand new from the boutique if you’re patient. I recently found an azur 25 and a monogram 30 by asking my SAs to keep an eye out and regularly checking in with them.

That's my issue...I have always ordered online and don't have an SA or a boutique close by (5 hours away). Plus, there's supposed to be a price increase end of September. I would love to be patient but it's sorta down to time crunch with me and paying 5-10% more than what the bag is now doesn't make it worth it for me, tbh. Are the classic speedy 25 pretty easy to come by in the boutique and is there an SA that you highly recommend that could source one?

Maybe try contacting the concierge. They can tell you if a bag is available to order. I’ve sourced a couple bags this way when I was tired of stalking the website lol. [email protected]

I am not an LV expert by far and only recently got into LV, but looking through numerous threads and YouTube videos, your bag actually looks really good! There are lots of stories of people buying online, through concierge, and by phoning customer service who receive far worse bags. I think the bag just needs to be stuffed properly to get rid of the piping issue( my bag came looking like that) and I agree that the spot will just patina out( again, my bag came with a couple spots). There are also lots of stories of vachetta leather wrinkles and yours seem relatively minor. I am certainly not trying to convince you to keep the bag if you are dissatisfied as we all have different thresholds. If you can get the perfect bag, that would be awesome. There is just no guarantee of a perfect bag unless you go in person, and that is if they have a perfect bag in stock, if any stock at all. It just seems to be often hit and miss. And the rumored price increase makes it so much more difficult. You certainly may have a chance of getting another bag before then, and if there is an issue, perhaps you can exchange without any price increase with the help of concierge or customer service. I just wanted to say that if you end up keeping the bag, in my humble opinion, I think it is lovely! Good luck!

Bummer - I didn’t realize that you didn’t live near a boutique. As another TPFer suggested, I would contact the concierge. If you don’t have success, feel free to send me a message and I’ll give you my SA’s contact info.

My thoughts exactly. To be honest, I was very fortunate back in February of this year to get 2 classic speedy 25 DE and the elusive DE speedyb 25 online. Of the 2 classics, one of them had messed up handles and the speedyb leather bandoliere strips on one side were already wrinkling. I sent those 2 back and kept the one classic that looked good. Your absolutely right about item quality being hit or miss when ordering. This bag from Fashionphile is brand new with everything from the boutique. I'll try stuffing it for a few days to see how the piping looks.

The D ring on one side has a noticeable scratch and there is a loose thread on one top handle. Should I return this and attempt to order through client services until I get the perfect one? Or would these creases and scratches be found everywhere and I should just keep this bag?

The same thing happened to me back in February. Got my hands on the same bag and it was similar issues to yours. Wrinkling on bandoliere strap on one side, a bit of wrinkling on actual strap and the d-rings on the sides were scratched. I sent mine back. Also, at that time I had acquired 2 classic speedy 25 and one of those had jacked up handles. So I kept the good speedy of the 2 classics and sent the other back. Long story short...I got 3 bags at one time and only 1 of them was acceptable. I bought all of my bags online...got lucky and was at the right time. I would not pay that amount of money for those particular imperfections. Maybe you can contact/call and speak to LV customer service and they could exchange for you. Go ahead and do it. From what I understand there's a price increase looming around October 1.

Return! The shoulder strap and side strap should not be wrinkling.
