So I am debating a Speedy 30. I have been going back and forth between Speedy B / Speedy Classic and DE / Monogram. I love the monogram but with living in a climate with winter etc it worries me. The DE is so worry free.
Also, is the strap worth the extra $400+? I stopped in my only local store the other day and they had the Speedy 30 B in DE and it was MIF. It is on hold through Monday for me.

Go DE if it rains/snows alot and if you intend to use it everyday. Where I live we have risk of snow/rain 9months a year. I have the mono with vachetta and I only use my bag when it's sunny or cloudy and know it won't rain. I always have a plastic bag in case it rains. I use other bags when it rains. I'm not a fan of DE.
The strap depends if you are a hand held or crossbody person. If you like wearing your bag crossbody or have kids then the strap is a yes. It will help.
The look of the normal speedy is, imo a little more sophisticated but I can't live without the strap.

I too kind of like the look of the classic without the strap better as well. However having the strap would be nice in a pinch. I also like how the lock functions on the bandouliere version better.

I live in New England an almost all my LV bags have vachetta including a DA speedy B. Honestly, once it Patinas I don’t worry about rain, snow, etc. my DA bag got sprinkled on the other day - it’s 1st day out. No spots. I didn’t treat it.
For me, the strap is totally worth it. I removed the middle part & shoulder carry. It’s perfect & so comfortable that way. And having the cross body option if needed is nice. Monogram is my favorite! My next Speedy will mon mono. I keep wondering why I waited so long to get this bag!
I know how “practical” DE is but I’ve never loved it. Every time I think I may pull the trigger on it I just can’t. I actually love vachetta and how it wears with time.
I think you should get the Speedy B in whatever pattern your heart desires. Good luck!

I have something to ask you. Does your bag's stitches on the bandoulier part look like this.
I find the stitching is not obviously slanting. Looks straight. I thought the stitching should be slanting. Is it the same as yours?
Here's another shot. Can someone please enlighten me on this? Is it normal to have stitches like this?
