I agree, I think it is sloppy workmanship. I was keen to buy a speedy b 25 in DE as well and probably looked at a dozen or more...each one had something that annoyed me. I have a speedy b in 30 DE from 2014 and I brought my mum the same but in 25 size in 2015, whilst not perfect..they were still much better quality then what I saw in the last few months. So I ended up with the Duomo Crossbody instead but like to still get the speedy b 25 in DE someday...
I love the Speedy so much. I have other bags but the speedy will always be my first love. Everytime I carry it or see other ppl carrying one, my heart sings. It is such a simple, classic and elegant bag. Mad love.
Hello cutie speedy 20! I'm in with my first speedy. I always passed up the 25 and I'm so glad they came out with the 20. Perfect for someone like me who is an extremely light packer.
I have both the DE and mono Speedy B 35 and am very glad I have both. They were bought in 2011 and I am still happy with my decision to get both. To each their own though,

I just received my preloved speedy 30 from Japan. She's just been cleaned and conditioned. So happy. I gave my daughter the speedy 25 I purchased preloved in September since I found it to be a bit smaller than the 25B. She was one happy camper boarding her plane back to NYC[emoji6]
Trudysmum do you do anything to keep your speedy so pristine and beautiful? They have such gorgeous patinas... I would love love a speedy b 25 in monogram but so scared of dirty patina!I took one of my Speedy 25 bags out today.
I'm drooling over here looking at all your Speedys! I'll be buying my first Speedy in January - a Speedy B 30 in Damier Ebene. I don't live super close to a boutique - the nearest one is a 2 hr drive. I was planning on ordering online but now I'm thinking I should go look at them in person so that I don't get one with a defect. Thoughts?
If you can, I'd highly recommend going to the store and choosing yourself.
Does anyone tan their Speedy monogram and azur bags before taking them out for the first time? I did it for my monogram because I didn't like the pale colour of the handles so I actually put it near the window for about a month before taking it out. The handles didn't look so white then. Also, I don't like the idea of people looking and knowing that it is a brand new bag. Am I weird?
I did! I made sure the handles were tanned before bringing my speedy mono out, so I think you're not weird (or both of us are weird! Lol). For me, it was more of ensuring the handles look nicer before I carry the bag out. [emoji4]
Air travel with the Speedy 35... Can anyone recommend something to protect my Speedy 35 while placed under the seat on a plane? I thought I read somewhere about a lightweight shopping tote in which you place your bag before putting it on the floor and under the seat. Does anyone know of a specific source for something large enough for the 35? What do you use in this situation? Thanks!
You can try a Longchamp! I know that's a favorite for people protecting their Hermes on flights. Also, Baggu is a great company that has TONS of bags in different colors. The standard size is $9, and the biggest is $12. They can both carry up to 50lbs in weight, plus they fold up very small. I think the 35 would fit in both, but maybe the larger size would be better so it can completely wrap up your speedy. Here's an idea of how big it is:
