I love the matte leather. I sold all of my shiny leather pieces and repurchased them with the matte.

i’ve had my speedy b since 1/12/2020. I had it stored in the dust bag and took it out to check the wear the other day and all 4 corners are black. I’m still bummed, because I baby my bags! I was very careful, never placed them on the floor, always stored it in the dust bag, etc. This wasn’t even my every day bag. Mine was made in the usa.
Hi there, I think the black on the corners of this bag is a little inevitable. I don’t really know why it happens to be honest but my only guess is that it maybe happens due to the bag rubbing on your body when you’re carrying it?
Unfortunately, this happens with DE. I am surprised that yours is only a year old and has that much darkening. Mine is two years old and has some. Other DE bags that I have had have done the same. LV considers it normal wear, but you could still ask about it since the bag isn't that old. Do you have a shaper in it that would stress the corners? Other than that, it's really not anything that you have done but is the nature of this print.
It’s so unfortunate. I’ll definitely ask soon. And that’s the crazy part, I don’t use a base shaper (or an organizer) specifically because I didn’t want it to add any stress on the corners! You can’t win. Lol

You’re right, there’s not a whole lot you can do to stop it from happening, even if you’re very careful
All my DE speedys have had the corner wear. (I’ve had three!). My Neverfull gm did as well. I think it’s the way the dye holds on the seams. I just figure it’s bound to happen and am careful along doorways and walls. I have had no corner wear on my mono bags.
do you remember how long it was before you started to see wear on your de corners? i’d totally get mono but i live in seattle and i’m paranoid about rain and the vachetta!
I really never noticed it until I started reading these threads and then started looking closely at my bags! Lol. I think the more you use them the sooner the corner wear. If I remember correctly it was soon after. It is super annoying especially after spending over $1600 for a bag to have it wear like that. I have to remind myself that DE is a bit more delicate than mono and to rotate my bags every few days. Hang in there. It’s like the first scratch on a new car. After that it’s fine!
DE Is worry free in all weather. If you can add $430 the MWT speedy is the best of both worlds. Mono with black handles and strap. If that bag is too steep for you, then there‘s the patina champ method to care for new vachetta. You could also go the pre-loved route and find a speedyB that has some patina on the straps. Bottom line is it’s just an expensive bag no matter what. Wear will happen. DE is beautiful and carefree (if you ignore the corners). I tend to grab my MWT more. I love the mono/black combo for winter. But I do love the DE so that’s why I have one of those as well!

Woohoo! You will love it! All this talk got me searching for a preloved mono 35B for travel. I found one in great condition so I have something arriving in the mail as well!
My previous speedy b 25 was like that as well! It was Made in the US, and I figured that it was just normal wear and tear.
