i have a speedy B DE 30 made in 2012 and i absolutely adore it. It feels sturdy and the canvas is thick. A few months ago i bought an Azur made in 2014 and the canvas was so thin! i ended up returning it because it just felt flimsy. If anybody bought a speedy within the last 6 months to a year, how do you feel about the canvas? is it thinner than your older speedy B?

Yes! I can tell the difference between my 2013 Damier Ebene Speedy 30 & my new 2015 Mono Speedy-B 30 I just bought earlier this month! The canvas is so much softer & I guess slightly thinner on the newer one, I hope I don't have any issues with it. Ridiculous the prices we pay for declining quality. Also, stitching on the underside of the handles is better on the 2013 Speedy than the 2015 model. It is obvious LV is cutting corners to maximize profit.

So true! Did you notice that the weight of the handles feel lighter as well?

The handles feel the same to me really, just that the leather is stiffer on the DE as I expected it to be but although I like the new puffier chaps, I noticed that because the line of stitching is now above the rivet instead of below it as on the older model....I have slight wrinkling & creasing where the line of stitching is at the top of the chaps on the new speedy. I hope I am making sense lol.

I just bought a speedy 30 B in DA (made in 2015) and I have a speedy in mono made in 2012 and my new one has much softer canvas and I would say it is thinner, also I do notice the new handles feel almost dainty compared to the older ones

Yes it makes sense. I noticed that too on my de speedy made 2015.. I hope it doesn't crack because of the creasing.. that was the reason I exchanged my om speedy In the first place 😕

Yes "dainty" is the perfect way to describe it! I notice the vachetta they are using now is also softer & more prone to wrinkling. I wish they would leave well enough alone. I am not a fan of the quality of the newer materials they are using. They are not changing the bags for the better imo. I do love my Retiro NM but I am not a fan of the new Estrela though (looks like a mono canvas Celine bag :/ ). I wish they would bring back the more classic styles in the older quality canvas & vachetta.

I hope it doesn't crack either! I called LV to complain about the wrinkly vachetta & was told I should keep & enjoy the bag because it would happen with use anyway but if it gets to the point of cracking then I should send it in for repair / replacement. My 2013 or 2009 Speedies didn't have any wrinkling on the chaps. I think its the new softer vachetta & also the placement of the stitching now make the bag more prone to wrinkling. I thought I liked the puffy chapes but I really prefer the quality of the old style Speedies.
