Don't feel bad - it's just a result of interaction of the brass with air. It's happened to both of my new Speedy B locks. Brass is mostly copper and zinc, and different combinations of copper and zinc may tarnish at different rates. If LV really wanted to, they could add other elements to the brass alloy to make it tarnish less quickly, but that could be a topic of its own!

In the meantime, we'll just polish it as normal...

Tarnished brass is really easy to clean. There are a number of brass-specific products available, or just ketchup (which is super acidic and can remove tarnish).

I didn't post the question, but thanks for these replies. I will like to try this as well. My lock was given to me tarnished with my new speedy b as well. :tdown:

I went into LV looking for a mc cosmetic case but they were sold out. I asked the SA what was the likely hood of me finding an MiF speedy b and she said slim to none but she'd check anyway.
