Thanks. Your reply and cativee's are making me to lean towards the DE.
It is a tough fight between durability and design but I guess I can't bear the thought of my bag spoiling so easily after splurging on it. A month more to go before I get my own speedy b. 
I struggled between the DE and Mono but went with the DE based upon preference and feedback. I had to order online bc I don't live in a state with LV boutiques which was even scarier. Needless to say, she arrived last Friday and I'm so pleased. I'm a busy working mother of two and couldn't bare worrying about damaging my first LV. I'm sure you will LoVe whichever you decide upon...
i just purchased my DE Speedy B and am in love! OMG, and the intoxicating smell of new canvas ++ i thought i'd only have this feeling with vernis pieces, but UGH new canvas!!! 
i have a DE Speedy in 35 and 25, but feel the strong need to get the DE Speedy B 25. my SA tonight suggested to get the 30 and just use the strap on the Speedy 25, but it's not good on the handles, even if i carry very little, and it looks silly.
ease and no-nonesense is now my middle name: as i've come to discover by owning items in other LV lines, i don't tend to reach for them as much as i do with my DE canvas. which puts me in a bit of a dilema.
dilema: i've sold my Palermo PM and Artsy GM in momo and hardly use my Retiro GM (which i do still love) but just don't reach for her. i also have a Vernis Alma MM (old name) in Pomme that i hardly use, but am inclined to keep her for now but...should i sell the Retiro GM?
ramblings / history: i bought her before i bough my NF's (GM in DE & DA), so now i do have easy throw-&-go totes. through this process, i feel that when i'm investing in a new LV bag i REALLY need to KNOW that i'll truely use it, otherwise for me, it's too much money to lose buying new and selling because of minimal usage.
i most often use my DE Speedy 25 on the weekends, as i don't need to carry as much with me because i'm running errands with a car vs having to carry everything during the week for work in the city (public transport to work only). what do you wonderful folks think? honest opinions most welcome. thanks!

i'm not a mono girl, as i've come to discover that with other LV lines, that i don't tend to use the other because of the ease and no-nonesense of the DE canvas. i have two neverfull gm's (DE & DA) but absolutely am in love with the DE Speedy B.

I have an Alma in Pomme and will never part with it. She sees light maybe twice a year. I have sold all of my non LV bags but cannot imagine selling any of my LVs. This is a tough one. I love the Retiro too. If you see yourself having no use for a bag I say sell to fund another.
I have to agree.... if you don't use it in over a year, are you going to use it at all? Just a thought....
I have been through the same dilemma ~ had a vintage speedy and a MIF Tivoli that I parted with because I need a shoulder strap. Now I am almost talking myself into the Speedy B, since it has the strap and I LOVE the trim!
So.... I say continue to invest in pieces that are functional for your daily life. I love the idea of passing on to a new owner that will truly love one of your pre-owned pieces and get good use out of it!
I have been through the same dilemma ~ had a vintage speedy and a MIF Tivoli that I parted with because I need a shoulder strap. Now I am almost talking myself into the Speedy B, since it has the strap and I LOVE the trim!

Hey ladies, I was just wondering about the quality issues on the Speedy B in DE. When it first came out, I saw a lot of posts about the zipper gaps, misaligned handles, and peeling/cracking glazing.
The first two are easily checked for when inspecting a bag before you buy it, so I'm only really concerned about the peeling/cracking. Is there much chance a bag would look perfect on purchase but develop this problem in a matter of weeks? Is this problem common, or was it rare, and it was just talked about so much that it seemed like it happened a lot?
I am planning to pick up a Speedy B DE on a trip next month, but am very concerned about the hassle I'd have to go through to return/exchange/repair a bag when I have to deal with a store in another province (no LV near me, and I'm in Canada so I have to order from a store instead of LV.com). I'm even considering buying a different bag, even though I am so infatuated with this one, just so I won't have to deal with the stress of it all!

Hi, I just had a beautiful Speedy B DE last week, with no quality issues.
I never heard/ read about peeling , cracking after use , not like DE Neverfull.
I think go for it
