From what I have researched, the reasons they changed the bag 3 times is because: 1) The vachetta pull tab on the back pocket kept getting complaints for getting color transfer on it and easily fraying on the edges. 2) The extra inner pocket was useless because the 2 inside slit pockets and the back zippered pocket all shared the same space so it made the bag bulge too much. 3) They used thinner canvas to give the bag more leverage to fit more while not cracking the canvas.
I don't think I agree that they have fixed all of the issues because if you go back and read all the previous comments on this board alone, you'll see that much of the glazing problems are due to the side strap clasps and strap rubbing against the sides of the opening flap of the bag.
Interesting story... I was in picking up my other bag and was wearing my PM. The SA who was helping me said how much she liked it and that is a shame that it is so back ordered. She had said it was back ordered because a well known Chinese blogger posted a review and ever since then it had become extremely popular. Is this true? Has anyone else heard of that?
On March 21, I put my name on the wait list for the PM via phone through the New Orleans store. They asked if I wanted it to be mailed directly to me when it was my turn or did I want to be called to come to the store to look it over. I chose the second option and all they did was take my name and phone #. The expected wait time was 4-6 weeks. About 2 weeks ago, I heard here that the PM is severely back ordered and decided to see if I could snag it off of the website which I was able to the first day trying. I waited for it to be delivered and inspected it thoroughly - no problems. I then took my name off the waiting list. Last weekend I went into the NO store to choose a SLG for Mother's Day. The SA told me that they have only gotten 1 PM into the store in the past 2 weeks. He didn't know how long the wait list is. HTH!

Yeah, it's pretty interesting. So many on the wait list but so many are in for repairs too. I wonder if they will discontinue it? I've heard California will start making them but I haven't heard of any made in the US yet. What model do you have, original or new?
I have new, I bought it in August. I don't know if it's the more pliable canvas though. It's hard to tell. It isn't as matte as my new twinset if that makes sense. It's more shiny.
