How gorgeous!!!I got these beautiful Yoko London diamond and pearl studs for Christmas
Nice. Welcome to the pearl life.I’ve been drooling over all the pearls in this thread for a while. I‘d been wanting a south sea pearl necklace for years and I finally got a champagne colored south sea pearl necklace last week. 12-14 mm, 19.5 inch length.
Thanks! I think it’s a slippery slope because I’m already thinking of what to look at next. I was thinking of a white pearl necklace. I love the color and luster of Akoyas but prefer bigger pearls.Nice. Welcome to the pearl life.

The studs you are looking are sold out online. If they are available, it will show the size and grade. In Japan, mikimoto akoya pearls are graded Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4, with Q1 being the best quality. Hope it helps. This is perhaps a niche question but I’ve recently been deciding on Mikimoto studs (AA vs AAA), and will be purchasing them from Japan. But when I enquired online via their website, they replied saying all sizes of their classic studs are classified “top quality” in Japan, and that while they have internal classifications, they do not disclose those terms to customers. Unlike on the US/UK websites they also don’t have the option to choose between pearl grades, only the pearl size (https://www.mikimoto.com/jp_jp/pe-2k). Digging online I’ve seen posts saying the Japanese grading categories are different from the usual US A to AAA system. Anyone have experience purchasing these studs from Japan and could pitch in about what exactly “top quality” infers?
Thanks so much! When viewing the Japan site in any language other than the original Japanese the studs do appear sold out, but if viewed in Japanese the studs are readily in stock in every single size, but there is no drop down menu to choose any grading. The studs you are looking are sold out online.
