Yes, after I read your post, I researched chemicals frequently used in porta~potties. Evidentially, formaldehyde is commonly used in the toilet bowls. Perhaps someone made an error and mistakenly added it to the water for the sink?
In any case, i hope Pandora can either fix your ring or even replace it!
Make sure to let us know what they told you.![]()
Hi ladies, I went to Pandora yesterday and immediately the sales lady said it's perfectly normal to tarnish, especially in this heat and against my skin and sweat. She said no need to exchange, and polished it with her cloth, and I could see a lot of black color being removed.
I understand tarnishing in silver is normal (my Tiffany jewelry seems to tarnish quickly), but the fact it was sped up by that awful bathroom water is what I was scared about. When I mentioned that (I didn't go into details about the specific porta potty) she just said it was normal. She said they could do the additional liquid washing, but thought it looked fine enough. I compared my cleaned ring to one in the store and it did look back to normal. I walked around the mall to keep checking the color to see if a more thorough liquid cleaning was necessary, but those darn mall lights are too difficult to judge under, and now today it's raining so lighting is poor. I'd say it's about 90% improved. I still have to return to Pandora for my leather bracelet promo exchange (they're out of pink color until August), so I may ask for a liquid cleaning if I think it's still tarnished.
Thanks for your help ladies! I was so relieved after her initial cleaning that most of the tarnishing was removed on my new ring. [emoji4]
