EEK! I'm so upset and would appreciate your help! [emoji120]🏽 I was at a music festival and used a porta potty bathroom with a sink inside, where you use your foot to pump out water. Well, I noticed some awful chemical smell, and it was coming from the water! The smell stayed on my hands all night. I was wearing my brand new Pandora silver CZ ring. [emoji26][emoji26] The next night I wore my ring out again, and realized it had tarnished, or turned a copper color all over!! Am I screwed? Can Pandora treat this and get my ring back to silver?

Does anyone know what that chemical smell was coming from the sink water? Was it unsafe? (I have reached out to the festival, but doubt I'll hear back.)

Emyers, lovely rings. And I love that hearts safety chain, so pretty.
Simplyhappy, sorry about your ring... I would probably take it to Pandora, explain what happened and hope for the best, although I'm afraid they may refuse to exchange it because the discoloration was not really their fault.

Oh maybe it was formaldehyde... Thanks for getting me on track to some sort of reason for that smell. It was at nighttime, and the porta potty didn't have a light inside, but I believe the water was colorless. Geez I wonder if I was harmed at all. Physically, I feel fine.

I'll go to Pandora today or tomorrow to see if they can clean it back to normal. I just can't believe this happened. :/

Hi Ivalani! Thank you! I wore the rings today and they were perfect, I love the style/look the give my hand!!! The safety chain is a great addition, loving it!!!!

Yes, after I read your post, I researched chemicals frequently used in porta~potties. Evidentially, formaldehyde is commonly used in the toilet bowls. Perhaps someone made an error and mistakenly added it to the water for the sink?

In any case, i hope Pandora can either fix your ring or even replace it!
