NOOO Missydora don't go! Don't let the overreaction of one prevent you from participating! I've loved hearing from you, and this forum only works because of all the contributions, whether every reader approves of them or not.
Agreed - don't go! It's a forum - people are entitled to their opinion. We should just learn from it, and move on.

It wasn't just you! We were all joking and I think it was meant in good humour. X

Wow! I am so saddened by the disparaging remarks that have been made regarding the pretzel charm (meant to commemorate a trip to Germany or New York) and the wishbone charm (titled "make a wish"). It's one thing to tell the community that there is a collection of beads that you aren't attracted to, but it is another to make people feel embarrassed and uncomfortable because they have chosen or been gifted those beads.

There are beads on my bracelets that you may not enjoy (I have neither the pretzel nor the wishbone). I know there are beads on others bracelets that aren't my favorites (including my own mother's collection :smile1:), but we don't have to be mean.

Pandora is obviously making a change from beads that encourage symbolism to beads that are intended to be an actual object. We don't have to like them all. If you don't like them, don't buy them. Please don't be mean to others who love them. When we get new beads we are excited to share them on a forum where we all have a common love of things Pandora. It's not fun when there is so much negativity.

That's just my opinion. To each their own… And I fully understand that by adding my two cents to this matter I am opening myself up to negative comments made by others. It's okay. I'm tough!:shame:

I agree with the wishbone/pretzel thing, I don't like them either, but I think the joke went a bit too far.

Missydora, you don't need to stop contributing, I'm sure it was all meant in good humour! Everyone is entitled to put across their opinion, and on forums comments can easily be taken differently to what was actually meant. No need to leave! :smile1:

I agree. Joke taken too far but I don't think anyone should take it seriously. Hey, I like the wishbone but I wouldnt buy it because I don't have a meaningful memory with it...so therefore I won't get it. I do have a wishbone necklace though :)

No need to ban yourself from us!

C'mon guys, all in good humour! I think it's about time to get that wishbone ;)

i understand, it's really special when it's a gift, and i think that from your hubby and little girl, it's really special

i love the stories too, and love to see so much differents kind of bracelets
The only thing with getting them as presents is when you run out of room on your bracelet, you have to get another one ;-)
I'm building a two tone bangle now, but it's a slow process lol

A fun Pandora question was posed to me at the hair salon today: at what point did you start designing your bracelet, rather than just collecting beads that you like?

My hair stylist has 2 Pandoras. She has never really thought about the overall look of her bracelet. She has just been adding beads as she gets them and when her first bracelet was full, she got a new bracelet and started adding beads there too. She is always looking at my bracelets and we spend some time at each appointment admiring each other's new beads. Her collection is really special, but the arrangement is funny. I suggested that she take her beads off both bracelets and rearrange them.

Her reaction: "You can do that?!?!?!"
My response: "Well, you don't have to have 2 Christmas trees right next to each other just because you got them the same day if you don't want to!" LOL

So for her, she began to design her bracelet after collecting a bracelet and a half of beads…
For me, I think it started as soon as I chose my second Murano glass bead… when I had to decide whether to match or just to coordinate. Now I collect with a purpose. How about you?

Interesting question!! I'm very curious to hear everyone's answers :smile1:

I think if I get something that doesn't "go," I put it aside. I have simultaneously 8 bracelets going (?). Some have almost no charms, but there's a long-term plan for them lol.

Good question. I want to say I've been collecting with intention on design from the start. When I've been given a charm that didn't match at all (the Yin Yang), I built a new bracelet around it! Like, "I will make this work!"

I'm going by my own personality. I'm not a huge fan of the beads but I do like the onyx color. This is my first bracelet and it's special to me because my SO bought it for me as a Christmas/4th Anniversary gift.

I can't wait to see what my bracelet looks like when it's completed.
