I love that bracelet too, love purple. It´s funny, I polish one bracelet every evening when I´m wachting t.v. So by the end of the week they all have been polished. I love doing that. I think my bracelets still look good too, although I don´t wear them that often because of work. But all of the bracelets here look great, so I was wondering: How do people sometimes get such a 'worn off' bracelet? I have never made a scratch on a murano but I have seen muranos on other peoples bracelet that didn't even shine anymore. Do they just never take it off?
I had a pretty bad experience with my bracelets and I will never get them cleaned at the Pandora shop again. The first time I did it was great and they looked wonderful afterwards. But the second time I had them washed there just a couple weeks ago, they came back looking horrible. When I gave them, it was a new girl and she had trouble getting the clips off and got the safety chain stuck. Then she asked another girl for help counting the beads and I felt like I wanted to just take them back but I figured whatever she is just learning. But then when I went to pick them up the next day, 3 of them were all stuffed into one bag and the other 2 were missing! They could not find them and they pulled out a big drawer of random bracelets and asked me to describe mine and show them pictures, which thankfully I had on my phone! Then I looked at them and they looked worse really. They honestly looked worse than when I gave them in and my square shaped beads now look very used. I was really just extremely relieved that they found my bracelets that I did not even think to say to them that they messed up my bracelets. But after getting home I really examined them and there is a scratch in the enamel of my love letter bead and a few others are really banged up. I wanted to go back and really make a fuss but my husband told me it was probably futile because what are they going to do ? Give me new beads? No. If anything I should have said something when I picked them up so. I will never give anyone my bracelets to clean again! Even if I have to buy 50$ worth of polishing cloths I would prefer that.

I'm sorry about your experience. it is aweful to see your loved beads getting treated the wrong way! i wonder how they clean in the store? here they just use the cloth really and a very soft brush to get into the cracks. i wouldnt send mine in either. do you think they might have given you someone else's bead(your love letter) or the ones they put in the shop window that are quite old and wore? it's unacceptable, i would complain. any one who would send the beads in, should take pictures before hand, so if there is damage afterwards you have proof.

Hello, ladies! I'm going to NYC in about 2 weeks and I plan to get some charms (the apple charm as a souvenir plus open work or muranos) because pandora is more expensive locally. So can anyone help point me to stores where service is great? And would you know if sales/promos will be going on around that time (2nd wk of July)? I really want it to be a happy, memorable experience. Thanks in advance! :)

Sorry to hear about this. Very good reminder about taking photos first before handing over for cleaning. I haven't actually had my bracelet cleaned at the store yet. I went once but it was past their cleaning schedule (which I think is quite a difficult timing - 11am-2pm).

O my, that's a horror story! I feel so bad for you. I amazed that they even have a drawer of random bracelets. That sounds just so careless, awfull. You are right not to let them clean agian, especially in that shop.

Whaaat? What the heck do they do to them? A smaller jewelry store may be able to do it better. I work at a store that carries Pandora, we use a tumbler while the customer waits. It only takes a few minutes, it's very gentle, and they come out looking brand new. We haven't ruined anything yet. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

I haven't been on here for a while. Kind of stopped with Pandora for a little bit for some reason, kinda was unhappy with how I was designing my bracelet. Truthfully I was just really missing my purple muranos on my bracelet. So I put them back on with my favorite/ meaningful two tone charms. And put the vintage heart I got months ago on my bangle. :) really happy with it now and I just wanted to share how it looks. View attachment 2659196
I love your vintage heart charm, it is so pretty.

I felt fuming when I read your blog about the terrible experience you had with Pandora. That is really poor and unacceptable. Clearly that little silly shop assistant was not ready at all to serve customers. I cannot believe the store even let her out to touch customers. You should complain seriously, they cannot get away with poor service and the damages to your bracelet and your emotion just like that.

I wish I had taken photos in the shop and had one of the sales people be witness. But that is a whole big hassle. I was quite upset that night but my husband talked me out of causing a fuss. Really there was nothing I could do because I thought of going in the next day but I felt like they were just going to make me look silly because I can not prove anything. It is mostly because I've had bad experiences before like for example I had a 18K Russian band ring custom made for me once and all it had on it was an 18K hallmark. Well I lost a lot of weight and had to get it sized down and when they gave it back to me it looked like a 9K gold replica and the stamp was gone. So when I told the shop owner that I thought someone maybe made a mistake and gave me the wrong ring, he started cursing at me and told me he would call the police if I didn't get out of the store because he said I was trying to con him. I told him there was a stamp and he denied there ever was one. Had it been a more expensive ring I would have called the police myself and gotten a lawyer involved but it wasn't worth it. I think that incident made me a little wary of saying anything lol. In retrospect I should have though :( It's not a big deal because the beads will look worn eventually anyways and this taught me to be more careful of my bracelets and not trust anyone to do a job I can do myself lol

I think what might have happened is that the new girl who took my bracelets, left them in the tumbler for too long, or she put too much in at the same time, and that is why they look banged up. Either way...never again! Maybe I will consider at least calling the head manager of that shop and making a complaint so they can be aware of whats going on in there.

Hi, I think some people just wear their bracelets day in, day out, in the pool, while exercising, etc., all activities that can adversely affect the finish, what with body oils, perspiration, suntan lotion and god forbid, bug spray, that will eat your charms!

I was in a store once in Florida when a customer was arguing with the SA about looking after their bracelet, saying they never take it off, blah blah. She ended up staying at the same hotel as me and she did indeed wear it in the pool and went to swim in the ocean with it on! Salt water can pit silver so I can't see her bracelet looking good after a while.

Our bracelets get to be pricey investments, so we should look after them properly. I store mine in a jewelry box, clean with the polishing cloth and occasionally clean them in warm soapy water with a baby toothbrush and they look amazing. No dull finishes, even small scratches can be diminished and be seen as badges of honour! Just watch out for those pesky pearls.

Did anyone see that eBay listing where someone was selling their very pricey collection because they had dunked it in liquid silver cleaner? OMG, what a disaster, lots of pearl dangles all discoloured and silver turned this weird pink colour and all the oxidation removed. I actually bid on it but got outbid by $1.00. I thought they may have been worth salvaging, since pearls can be replaced and oxidation can be brought back with the boiled egg trick. I would have been sick if that had happened to me, but then I would have never, ever put them in liquid cleaner.
