Thanks everyone for your input. I wasn't aware of any bangle "issues" until now and had I been so, it would have probably affected my purchasing decision.

Thanks. Perhaps all SAs should be more forthcoming with this info.

You were lucky you were able to exchange. I will try too. It's true; now that I think about it, I had no scraches with the pave charms only. It's when I introduced the 5 screw on charms that it happened and quite rapidly. I do miss the minimalist look of the bangle with a few charms only, so might just stick to the paves/openworks/dangles if I am lucky enough to swap for a new one.

I will give it a shot Tabitha, as I bought just a few days short of a month. It looks horrible now; not only lacklustre and matt but kind of yellowy too, like white gold when the rhodium plating wears off. I don't get that. Spoke to SA over here and she just said that all smooth surfaced charms and jewellery get loads of scratches due to the softness of silver. She then tried to polish it but to no avail.

I can't imagine what it would look like in a year...

Good luck with the exchange, although they may just say its normal wear and tear! If they give you a new one, you will get less scratching with non threaded charms.

A little report on the opening of the Oxford Street Flagship store, for those who are interested.

I arrived mid-morning, and obviously the Golden Tickets for the free gold charm were long gone. Apparently the first ladies in the queue arrived at 4pm yesterday!

There was still quite a long queue - the lovely ladies brought round cupcakes, macaroons and bottles of water to help things along. These, along with the bags of sweets that the promotional girls were giving out, made the time go fairly quickly although I still queued for about half-an-hour. Luckily it was on the non-sunny side of the street, it's very hot in London today.

Once inside the shop, it was still quite busy, and it took another ten minutes or so before I was served. No problem though - cakes and sparking drinks were freely available with a couple of comfy seats. They really did try to make things as easy as possible for such a busy day.

There were lots of sales assistants on duty and I was served by the new manager, a very pleasant chap poached from Arsenal's retail operation who did a great job for someone who's only worked for Pandora for two weeks (although he admitted that his very knowledgeable customers know more about the jewellery than he does at the moment! - get the impression that that'll change soon, he's very good).

Having selected the gold spacer that I wanted, it was off to the jewellery tower. You choose which drawer you want to open and get the prize that's inside. It could be anything from a £15 silver spacer to a piece of gold jewellery - while I was waiting to be served, someone was filmed with their prize and I assume that was a big winner.

My treat - well, the first drawer that I chose was empty (oops - empty drawers were supposed to be marked with a ribbon!) Second time lucky, and I was very pleased with my bangle, actually something that was next on my list to buy.

There was no hurry, you weren't rushed out of the shop at all, and I sat down for more macaroons and bubbles (non-alcoholic!) before leaving.

All-in-all a very very pleasant experience!

Didnt think of that !

Also reading about the problems with the bangles scratching and SA being more informed......Yesterday the SA in my store said that the oxidised bracelets lose their colour and need re oxidising which they can do for around £18. Has anyone experience of this and how long does is take before it starts wearing off ?

Hello Geddes!

I have an oxidised necklace which I wear A LOT - it's about 18 months old now, I think

The oxidisation is beginning to wear off in two places- at the front where the charms hang (here it's greyish instead of black, but the colour sort of graduates as it goes round and it's really not noticeable) and on the clasp which is blotchy grey/silvery/black (this is a bit more obvious but it doesn't bother me too much).

I do oxidise silver myself - the hard boiled egg method, yes, really! - but that's only a temporary measure and I wouldn't attempt it on Pandora. £18 doesn't sound too bad to have it done properly. Having said that mine is only just beginning to go and I wouldn't bother yet.

THe birds and branches one when I checked it out in store it looks really pretty! You should definitely go for it if you don't have a hint of green on your bracelet and that it doesn't draw away the attention from other charms.

Too bad for me it would be too green if I added the birds and branches one.

And the pixie one - though I didn't purchase it at the end, the details on it was really good.

As promised another pic with my new added charms purchased from Bicester. Although recently discovered I could have purchased them a bit cheaper from U/M. Oh well...

Want to save for the gold seahorse next:smile1:

My freebie black triple from the promotion with two of the new arrival charms. Love this:love:

And lastly my daughters bracelet which I promised pics of. I bought her the bracelet for her 16th birthday with a couple of charms & it is now finally full. She's 19 now so has taken 3 years which I believe it the way it should be done. Unlike my impatient self who has only been collecting for a month:graucho:

THIS IS STUNNING! I LOVE your daughter's bracelet! It looks so pink and so pretty :):)

And your other ones too!! Wow!
And you're not only one here bitten by the Pandora bug - I am almost like 75% full in 3 weeks!

SO TRUE dinamit... This forum is also contributing to this addiction!

THis is so pretty - I was going to get the carriage one as well - loved it at first sight. But then it didn't go with the holistic look of my braclete so had to forego it :(

All your new purchases look so lovely xx

If favorite color is green then go for it! There are so many green collections in this autumn release. I especially love nature as well - and this Autumn collection is all about it. I think unlike the winter collection, this collection seems more 'long-lasting' e.g. branches, birds, leaves - which won't go out of date as winter collection seems to have more snowflakes etc involved and would be weird to wear out in summers I think.. :P

Quite fancy an oxidised necklace...........theres another thought.
Dont think the bracelet is going to have much chance of wearing out as i cant get it to do up so its on its way back tomorrow. I will keep the recipe to hand though :D
Well done on your bracelet. I decided to stay at home and top up my tan instead.

Don't blame you, gonna rain tomorrow...

My gold spacers usually live on my oxidised necklace - I LOVE the black/gold contrast - but they look pretty good on the new bangle too.

My Perlen order came today :yahoo::yahoo: earlier than expected.
Pics as below:

1) Charms all in a row

2) My mum's bracelet with her new pave clips and part of her mother-daughter charm

3) My red leather with its new mother-daughter charm and carriage. The carriage looks really out of place here so thinking of giving this to my mom as part of her royal collection

4) My updated oxidised bracelet with the new charms, two tone purse and apple signifying my other interest (bags) and my job as a medical lecturer. Two more items and my special-to-me oxidised bracelet will be complete:heart::heart:

Those pave heart clips are stunning! And so nice on their own on that bracelet x
