The 'micro' bag trend. Lovin' it? Or not?

My phone seems to be surgically attached to my hand so I guess micro bags can still work as a card and lip balm carrier for me if I really want to but nowadays my money goes to proper-sized bags that actually function. IF I was a smoker still, these will make a great ciggie/lighter holder *naughty naughty*

I admit I scoffed a bit at the mini/micro bag trend at first but I've realised a microbag or necklace cardholder/wallet is exactly what I've needed for years. There are a lot of times I don't carry a bag but just a small wallet or cardholder. In winter I keep them in a pocket of my jacket. In summer in the backpocket of my jeans, which is a problem because it's obviously not the safest place to keep them and I also have to carry either car or house keys in one pocket as well.

So, enter the micro/mini bag or necklace cardholder/wallet. It seems the perfect solution for keeping a few cards and keys when grocery shopping, at the farmers' market and going out with the kids when handbags are not practical. Does anyone else use these tiny bags/necklace bags and cardholders for similar or other reasons and do you have one in particular you'd recommend?

A few examples I've found but for different reasons they're not quite "the one".

Bulgari- LOVE this one but it's a bit too pretty for what I want it for, maybe.

One of my dearest friends loves these. While she wears them beautifully, I can't decide whether they're jewelry masquerading as bags or bags masquerading as jewelry. I get tickled every time I see one, because I instantly picture a pair of oversized tote earrings or a backpack bracelet. Considering the current trend of belt bags, I may not be far off.

I have a sudden urge to buy a truckload of old coin purses and make a jacket out of them, just to see if it would amuse anyone. My friend could probably make it look spectacular.
