I think that it is quite normal, the leather will scratch quite easily within a few hours of wear, at lest in my experience, but i do not baby my bags whatsoever. It will never be a bag with perfect leather. Hope that helped.
So this just means that all the new bags out there have scratches or imperfections already. Thats just actually what I need to know. Because Im just wondering about the state of the bag now that I've just received it.

Has anyone gotten one of the patent bucket bags yet? There is a beautiful rosy pink on Net a Porter - normally the kind of colour I would stay away from in normal leather bc of dye transfer. How does patent fare with colour transfer?

they are so beautiful, aren't they? they're what inspired me to buy my mini mini in blush! but i opted for the calf leather, not the patent, because i felt it might be more timeless. but i obsessed about it for two whole days before making that decision. blush in person (if you haven't seen it) is such a beautiful neutral, almost a putty pink. i'm in love! i say if you love the patent, get it. the price is great! i think others have brought up color transfer of the blush patent, but i think if you stay away basically from having your bag rub against indigo of any kind (like jeans) you will probably be ok. let us know what you decide!

on another note, i have to say i received my mini mini blush calf bucket direct from mansur gavriel and couldn't have been more pleased with the entire experience. i ordered my bag on friday and it arrived this afternoon! i was super impressed with the speed, given i paid nothing for shipping. the bag was packaged perfectly and looks amazing. i was really worried, as i've read some weary reviews of quality control issues, but as someone who is used to luxe brand quality (ysl, lv, etc.), i am actually beyond impressed. definitely much higher quality than the kate spades and tory burches, which i've never been happy with, in the same price point. on the down (up?) side, i can see why these are so addictive! like bals that come in every color of the rainbow, there's a compulsion to collect them all! i am definitely going to get a mini bucket next time - black/flamma. i'm doomed! :p

I really want to get the mini bucket in the calf leather but can’t decide between white or sand. Also, how’s the leather holding up? Does anybody own white or sand colour MG? Should I worry about colour transfer? Thanks in advance

It’s in regular size.
I’m 5’1 but I love big bags and I cannot Lie. Only downside is that I have to shorten the strap quite a bit.

I love the big bucket. I just sold one I have. I tend to fill it to the point it starts hurting my back carrying it all day. I need to the smaller version to make myself not over fill it. I plan to get the mini tumble leather but I want it in a neutral color like sand. I'm waiting patiently for that color to be available again one day. I just love the look of the leather you have. I'm afraid I'm too careless for that leather. I guess I'm better suited for the tumble leather. Haha

For me, it's over. It's been done to death by every company and MG were so popular and hard to get then they expanded their collection too fast and upped the prices. People lost interest and now you can buy them anywhere and if you do decide to resell you get about $100 back.

Not worth it anymore, I well and truly got over them and the whole bucket style in general very quickly.

Considering this bag; do people feel like the bucket bag trend is over or is this still a good purchase to make? Thanks!
I used to just love it for how it looks but I love it both for its functionality (i have the saffiano black/black) it's so easy to clean and maintain. it's VERY LIGHT (bags tend to add to the weight of the things we're carrying, which is not great!) so yeah, whether the bucket trend is over or not, personally, i think it's a good purchase :)

there's a sample sale going on right now on mansur gavriel's ig story, so you might want to check that out (they sell out fast so you have to be quick!) or if you're in NY, just head on to the store :)

Good luck!

Thanks for the quick feedback!

Funny about how much it's worth in terms of resale. I was just on the Apple site seeing what I would get for my iPad and Mac if I traded up. My iPad was top of the line, fully loaded ... now I'd get $165 back. The laptop was worse - $100. Ugh.

I've learned with bags you jump and hope if you decide to sell down the road you can make a little back. Usually you don't.

I like the idea that it's light - I overstuff/overcarry. Though I opted for a nylon backpack recently and was kind of loving it. Which shocked me. I think I'm more concerned about it just looking kind of dated. Especially at that price. Or am I wrong and it's just a classic shape that is somewhat less popular now?

I guess if you stick with the classic/neutral colors you'll be safe, plus (again, for me, and im not one to follow trends) the style is very basic/clean so i can use it for almost any outfit I wear (cause practically anything in my closet matches their aesthetic). I think the key is discovering your personal style and knowing what works for you.Trends come and go, and i feel like it's a way for you to know what's available and see if it matches your taste, style (add to that, lifestyle). I'm just happy this "trend" worked for me, and that makes it a staple in my wardrobe. :)
