Is it also pronounced 'vakketta' in French?

LV is from France, after all... :shrugs:

No, in French, the "ch" is more like "sh"...the only thing that I can think of producing a "ke" sound is "que"...

Anyways, considering French pronunciation, since LV IS French, it should be pronunced something like vah-shet-tah

I guess when SAs pronunce it "Vasch", it's just cutting out the "etta" part.

i just go with how it looks.... va-sheh-tah :)

anyway, Karman, why would the SA silented out the "etta"?? just outta curiousity???

My guess is they say it that way for short (since they say it ALL day long, right? ;) ). Kind of like... uh... I'm having trouble coming up with an example... maybe like calling your SO "hon" instead of "honey"?

Vachetta, I believe, is not a French word. (eg. the koala wallet also isn't french)...so if you want to pronounce it in Italian, it's
"vah keh tah"
but if you want to use the French equivalent word, it's pronounced "Vash"
and the American mix of the two is
"Vah sheh tah"

Like a nickname, my friends always call me "Karm" and I always cut out "A" in my friend Alise's name.
In a long word such as vachetta, one syllable is definitely easier than three!
