Hi all! Need help trying to decide on a gift for my sister for her bday in 2 weeks. She’s turning 30.
She loves citrus scent so I have narrowed it down to - California Dream, Cactus Garden, and Afternoon Swim. Which one do you think should I pick as a blind buy/gift? Or if other citrus I should consider instead? Of course, at the end of the day it boils down to personal preference but I am hoping to clinch it without the hassle of exchange, takes the fun out of gifting. Thanks!

I’ve tried all three and my favorite is afternoon swim. California dream was not that special and a little bit pungent. Cactus garden reminded me of mouthwash. Afternoon swim is absolutely delightful and I can’t imagine anyone disliking it especially if they love citrus. It smells like fresh orange lemon candy. It’s very unisex but there’s a sweetness in it that makes it a bit feminine. I was not expecting to like afternoon swim that much but now that I’ve tried it I’m definitely going to get my hands on a bottle when I use some perfumes up.

Thanks @Love_N_Lune and @chillipepper23 for sharing your thoughts! Ooooh 1 for CG and 1 for AS!

Does anyone have the 100ml travel case and actually use it? I’m thinking of getting it too with the fragrance. The description is microfibre lining, not sure if that’s ideal in case something spills… Plus 100ml is not really travel friendly:confused1:

I don't find LV perfumes very long lasting. I have Heures d'Absence and it'll last two maybe three hours on my body. Which of their scents do you find last the longest?
I tried les sable roses and I find that it lasts through a quick shower although it will be less intense and obvious after that. Generally it will last the whole day for me on normal days.

I love California Dream, but it’s mandarin and not everyone who loves citrus fragrances loves mandarin. I think it’s typical LV but also very unique.
But a fragrance is a very personal thing.

LV’s newest fragrance Spell On You. It contains May Rose which only blooms in May and is grown in Grasse. It also contains Iris which takes 6 years to extract and is the most expensive element to have in a fragrance. It launches on September 3rd.View attachment 5176525
It also has peach in it. Can you smell the peach? Does the fragrance smell similar to any other?

I can't really smell the peach. It just smells floral to me. The iris gives it a soft powdery scent. The scent is unique. Hopefully, you can get a sample of it.
Thank you! Soft powdery sounds very good. I’m looking for a fragrance for autumn as I don’t really have one that I love right now. I bought Coeur battant on a whim last year but don’t really like it that much. So I really hope Spell on you will be what I’m looking for. As soon as I’m back home in mid September I’ll go to the store and try it. :)
