I think Lamar is very aware where the money went. He was asked in the locker room, wouldn't answer then more than one month later, which is plenty of time to find out what was going on, he called a press conference and still wouldnt answer questions only saying that it is his money. How arrogant.

"A charity, as a tax-exempt organization, is a public entity, and therefore it has a responsibility to the public. We give them nonprofit status because that organization is supposed to be giving back to society in some way, shape or form," he said. "It's not meant to be someone's personal slush fund and a way for them to spend money for their own private purposes."

If I were LO's camp I would get a press release and video showing the work of the foundation. There are plenty of pics on the net of what he and Khloe have done shince she became involved.

Nothing was used for HIS personal fund. All AAU teams are funded by charity. He funded two. You might need to google AAU is a big organization.

But funding teams is not cancer research.
Had I given money to him thinking it would go towards cancer research and found out later that it was not the case, I'd be p*ssed.

Cancer research was a part of the mission along with helping the under privilege. Cancer research was never the sole mission of the foundation. It seems like most of their endeavors went to the under privilege. Oh I agree, it they are not going to do all parts they should redo their mission. Bottom line he needs better people running things, he needs to be aware of what's happening in his NAME, and he needs to write his own checks. The foundation has been auditied several times by the IRS according to the ESPN report and their was no fraud found. This is not a good look. And he's getting crushed in the courts of public opinion.

Chances are when you hand the reigns over to your agent, a former coach and other folks who know nothing about running an organization like this, you're going to screw things up and money will walk. Whomever the kids are who are going on these trips are not the "inner-city kids" he claims they are and Khloe having pics snapped with these kids is not money into the charity's pockets for research. The whole premise of the charity doesn't even sound well-thought out. His mother passed away from a form of cancer that primarily strikes adults, not children. Hell, if you Google Cathy's Kids, a golf tournament for a caucasian woman is one of the 1st links. Above all, the fact of the matter is: if you're going to say you're donating proceeds to research, at least DO IT. SMH at this fcukery and tomfoolery. He needs more people, in more ways than one.

Jmo of course

but I think starting the charity had to do more with Lamar's friendship with his best man Jerry Degregorio than kids and cancer research. Jerry Degregorio is an assistant coach with the warriors now, but he was a individual skill development coach until 2011. He earned 72K a year as Secretary for the charity that was running in the red. Lamar could give him money, but if he gave over 12K per annum (I think that was the # in'11, it varied depending on year ) there would be substantial gift tax. this gave him $ (tax form says he worked 40 per week for the charity).

Hi lovies. I just wanted to a few pics from yesterday’s Easter festivities with my family. We began the day with a traditional Armenian breakfast dish, Beeshee, followed by an Easter egg hunt in my mom’s backyard. We do the same thing every year, and it never gets old. It’s so important to stay true to your family traditions and pass them down from generation to generation.

Such a nice, relaxing Easter Sunday! How did you spend your holiday?

It is unfortunate that my husband has been the target of an attack on athletes’ charities, although he has personally contributed approximately $2.2 million to his foundation, Cathy’s Kids, to fulfill its charitable purposes that include helping underprivileged inner-city youth.

The millions of dollars personally contributed by Lamar constituted more than 90% of the money raised by the foundation. All of the funds donated by Lamar and the other contributions to Cathy’s Kids were used for one of the foundation’s intended charitable purposes. Not one penny went to help Lamar personally or any member of his family. No charitable funds were misused, and the IRS has repeatedly given Cathy’s Kids a clean bill of health, confirming that there were no improprieties.

Cathy’s Kids was formed with several purposes in mind, including benefitting underprivileged youth and cancer research. A decision was ultimately made that the charity should focus on one of those purposes — to help enrich the lives of underprivileged inner-city youth. It accomplished that goal. Cathy’s Kids helped fund multiple AAU basketball teams providing underprivileged youth with opportunities enriching their lives, providing financial support for coaching and travel to tournaments, helping inner-city youth on a path toward success and leading many participants to go on to college.
