Some silks I tried on yersterday though none came home. Mulling over which shawl or silk if any make the cut. Only time enough to try on a few designs but I’ll go back after the first of the year to view more.

Agree with the comment that there is a lot more yellow in the ones that I saw. I’ve already quite a few 90 silks with yellow so I will likely leap for Point d’ Orgue. Oops sorry for any duplicates !
You wear yellow beautifully - I really like the plumes on you!

Raises hand to speak. As the bald headed women in the corner I am loving the scarves worn on the head. I mean to say in the middle of summer, scarf, sunglasses and a bright lipstick and you’re good to go. It gives me a real idea on how the pattern works And... I’d love for it to catch on, so I didn’t feel quite so out of place sometimes. And to be honest scarves are so much easier to wear and handle than a sun hat, they are so versatile.

You are right. I hadn't thought of that, though I should have as my mom was bald for a while. Thanks so much for your sweet post, reminding me of other points of view.

The story behind
In Maori culture, motifs and patterns are a language with which to make sense of the world and are passed down from generation to generation. Te Rangitu Netana, a Maori tattoo artist, intertwines his culture and pays homage to the life of one of his ancestors to create this silk scarf design. An owl, the messenger between the material and spiritual worlds, rises above the four walls of the tribe's meeting place. The north wall represents the stairway of knowledge and a connection to the universe. The south wall represents the creation of water, with rain filling the oceans. The east wall depicts the light and the giant eagle upon whose back the Maoris journeyed. The west wall portrays the tears of the albatross, symbolizing the sufferings of the Maori people.

The story behind
Pipes, bellows and keyboards burst forth in a fabulous bouquet, inspired by the engraved illustrations to an 18th-century treatise. Pierre Marie's sumptuous, extravagant composition is a tribute to the organ, the most majestic of instruments.
