This is a very beautiful scarf but given there is no apparent extra handiwork or explanation/story given on the new-fangled UK website and given that H are all about using "up to forty colours" per scarf anyway (hmmm), I can't see the justification for the price difference. I miss the stories behind each scarf, they completed the picture to my mind. The new website just seems to want to hard sell without attention to the rest of what makes their scarves so special. I was interested to watch the video last night on their scarves being machine-printed; at least it puts the "each scarf is lovingly hand printed" story to bed. Maybe this one is, hence the higher price? Just a thought.

Yes, I thought that with their video of industrialised production.

Just a point to make about different cws highlighting or even diminishing certain aspects of a design. I had an issue trying to find Aline Honoré’s signature on cw05 of the Samourais GM. It’s nearly impossible to see! I had to refer to a different cw to find it.

Here is a photo of the signature in cw06. I am lazy so I am showing you that it’s just a zoom-in of a full shot of the shawl - but still very easy to see:

Now here is a close-up of the signature in cw05. Still very hard to see:

I think I want this in purple. I have it in blue, which I love, but after looking at yours, I feel like my blue one looks more serious. It is probably just in my head but the faces of the cards in purple look so Rococo, so playful, which isn't the feeling I get from my blue one. Love this. Congrats!!
I took a pic outside for You, if You are considering this CW as well. I love the blue CW though.

It’s done using a special Japanese printing technique which is why it’s considered “exceptional” and has an exceptional price tag. I really love the way this looks, but I was told that it will not be offered in the U.S. sad face
Thanks lala28 for the explanation. If there was one on the website perhaps customers could be more enlightened! [emoji6]

I found this video on “marbling” silk scarves on the Dharma Trading site. “It’s a great project for kids, small parties, and classes.” [emoji3] You can make it a DIY project, or buy them for $20 or so. I’m thinking the Hermes marbled scarves are considered exceptional because they’re Hermes!!

Thanks HNN! I have seen marbling before (mainly on paper though). I would never have guessed that this is how this scarf had been produced....every day is a learning day! [emoji16]
