Washington’s Carriage Quilt. My cowl-like creation doesn’t do it justice.

This is a lovely piece, though the name doesn't do it justice.
Please post a few photos of it if you can , 'quilt' is a strange moniker and seems to have nothing to do with this gorgeous scarf which looks modern techno rather than cosy granny!
I'm greedy about orange, it feels like 'home' to me.

I can see what you're saying. I quite like the action shots but I concur they're styled in a manner that's aimed at a crowd who don't wear H-scarves rather than the people that do. Diversity can mean more than 'Barbie' in different skin-tones.

Funnily enough the silk scarves I do see worn by Gen Z are the most classical vintage carres. The ones with gold and horses, keys and bridles, white backgrounds and coloured borders. I guess big corporate companies are always a few years behind...

You're right, and those horsey scarves look fab on the genZ .
I do mourn the fact that Hermès are so insensitve , however I seem to spend a fair bit of time reading the books and even longer in the store ….

I like the new format but haven't Hermès woken to the trend to use models of different ages?
I'd guess these models have an average age of 19 ,the scarves would look every bit as good on models twice , nay thrice, that age!
And why do they all have to be pin thin?
I find it demeaning .
AGREE! Especially a house with such expensive items should think about perhaps not only using teen models and adding more variety in general. In all other fields they set their own rules, but when it comes to marketing they do like everyone else does.

I don’t mind the action shots. But in my opinion they are more suited for IG (where they were posted anyway), than in the scarf booklet that used to be more of a reference guide. That social medium is also more likely to find the young crowd that these pics seem to be aimed at? They don’t look they had the typical customer at H in mind, while those are the ones that actually receive the booklet. Maybe there is still a “reference” booklet out there that we just haven’t seen yet? And this is just an extra? You know what they say, H acts in mysterious ways....

A few years behind, or a few decades?

Thank you so much for posting these pics. Though they don't remind me of previous booklets. Has hermes changed marketing directors or have they just changed direction in who they market to? I'm not sure I like how they have styled the scarves. I have finally been in an H store recently looking at the SS18 collection, the scarves are identical in colour combinations! I am not a fan that you can get matching Grand Prix and JQ 90. The colours used are exact maybe in different quantities but the same!! Very weird, is my best description. I am not sure that I like it....I know many of you have said this before but it was a shock to see it in person.:flowers:

I don’t know, but if they changed direction in who they market to, they really should reconsider their prices too.
Did you take anything home from the store?

Thank you for posting these Angelian! It's probably been over a year since I received a scarf booklet, which is weird as I spent more online the last year than previously...oh well...

I agree with y'all on all counts. These are IG shots, which makes sense if they are aiming for the more of the IG crowd (on the younger side).

Sometimes minimalist color schemes can be very successful, but I would say overall, I hope they don't continue heavily down this path. The little Vichy twillies being a case in point- super cute in their minimal plaid. Tigre Royal bandana...no thanks.... It's fun for awhile, but it does wear quickly.....

It would also be nice to see chic and elegant models who are not 19....I remember being pencil thin then too.....but it is just a memory now....:crybaby:

Finally twins with many of you here: my very first CSGM, Jaguar Quetzal in CW 05 bleu/taupe/gris, I love it! :hbeat:
Look at that face! Already many beautiful modeling pics of this one on this thread, so I’m just showing it on one of the things I plan to wear it with, a suede jacket.

Next, C’est la Fête handkerchief in CW 01 bleu glacier, it is so cute! Same size as a gavroche. It is cotton, but it looks (not feels) a bit like a mousseline, so it’s more translucent. (It was too dark when I took this photo, it’s a beautiful light blue.)

Last, Jumping losange in CW 03 ciel/noir/blanc. I believe this is going to be a very versatile piece for me. Love the format, clean lines and the no fuss colours. Just throw on and go.

Look at the cute little horseheads.

And here’s a SS2018 family portrait of my scarves (excluding C’est la Fête). (Up until now, maybe I will add one more.)
Really like the diversity, they each serve a different “purpose”.

They are all gorgeous, and so different from each other. Well done!
