I would like to know everyone’s thoughts on Jypsiere bags.

Is it worth the price?

Is it comfortable to carry around during trips?

Structure wise, the bag is similar to an Evelyne - would you get an Evelyne or a Jypsiere? Looks wise, I do have to say that I prefer the Jypsiere.

Also, the Jypsiere should be easier to get a hold of versus a Birkin and Kelly, correct?

I have my eyes on a Noir Jypsiere 28 in clemence, but would love to get as much reviews from the experts first! TIA.

Jypsiere 28 was my first (and second) H bag. There was a black one on H.com last week so they are definitely out there.

"Worth the price" is very subjective. IMO it is a very well-made, functional, commodious, and comfortable-to-wear bag. I do not regret either of my purchases. It is a fantastic travel companion although the closure does take a bit of getting used to. (I usually just close one of the straps over the flap when I need to get in/out often.) The only thing it shares with the Evie is that it's cross-body - the J is fully lined, with pockets, and has the B/K-style hardware. It also "dresses up" nicely by removing the strap and tying a twilly through the connector loops to make a short handle for more of a dinner out look.

This thread is so timely as I’m considering a jypsiere and I’d also be interested in what other users (past or current) think of the bag. I can research the physical dimensions if course, but in actual use, is there much difference between the 28,31 and 34?

I will go and try in store but I’d like to get my thoughts in order before I go in…

I own a Jypsiere In a 31 and I LOVE it.
I actually think its far superior to a Evelyne and much more 'special' Its unmistakably Hermes and yet doesn't feel flashy.
Mine is in one of the heavier leathers and I find it comfortable to carry all day with no problem.
First few times I used it I found the closure a bit annoying but now I'm used to it and I have no problems.
One of the things I love about my Jypsiere is that I can wear it with a dressed down jeans, white shirt and sneakers, but I also wear it with more designer looks and it still seems to work.
Mine is Gold and I am seriously considering getting another in a dark colour now.
Finally (and I haven't tried this) I believe you could also change the strap on it with a canvas Evelyne style one if you wished.
The Jypsiere is not a quota bag however its not always guaranteed that you can find the size and colour you want in store

Also own a Jypsiere 31 and love it!

I think of it as a crossbody Birkin and get so much use out of it. I have a dark one which is formal enough for work and also looks great dressed down with jeans at the weekend. And super practical for shopping.

The size is very personal choice - I've seen the 28 in store which wouldn't be large enough for my essentials. And at the other end of the size range - I personally wouldn't get a 34 as I'm too petite for it.

Funnily enough, I recently discussed this bag with my SA who said she's been getting a lot more Jypsiere requests recently as it's so close to the B/K design...

Value-wise, I'd suggest looking at the preloved market, they sell well below retail even in excellent or brand new condition. Whereas from the boutique it's the same price as a Birkin.

I had one that was a 34 Clemence and it was heavy. Not something I would choose to lug around if I was going to be doing a lot of walking. Love the look of the bag, but personally I found the straps to be cumbersome to get in and out of. I use to buckle it under the flap, but than you lose the look of the bag. I might consider a smaller one in 28 but I am considering a Halzan first.

im so glad that you posted this! I ordered a 28 bambou last night and am eagerly awaiting its arrival! Now I feel better about my decision haha.

I have a 31 and I have a love/hate relationship with it!

I love it because it’s my casual-non-dressy-errand-athleisure-wearing bag. It fits all I need plus more. I also love it because it is super well made, just how every other Hermès bag is. It is the birkin of crossbody bags so I don’t think it compares to an Evelyne other than both are carried the same way. Another reason I love it is that in a way it’s understated but very Hermès, it’s what I use when I want to wear a Birkin or Kelly but don’t want the attention.

Now, I hate it sometimes because it gets really heavy on your shoulder after a while. Mine is in clemence and about 70 percent of jypsieres are made in that leather, so good luck finding a lighter one. Another reason I sometimes hate it is how inconvenient it is to open and close. I usually just use it with the flap over its turnlock but it’s not my favorite look, so I bring the sangles on top of the flap and dangle them but it can be fussy. Last reason I hate it is very subjective lol to me, I only wear it casually with athleisure clothes because I feel it looks best only worn that way. I’ve tried wearing it looking chic but I think it’s not meant for it. I’ve worn it also with a scarf as the strap once to make it a shoulder bag (picture below) but something’s missing. It’s not as versatile as I thought it would be when I first got it.

Overall, it is a great bag but if you’re unsure about it I suggest buying preloved because resale value is waaaaay cheaper as compared to buying it in store which costs a little less than a birkin/kelly.

I had a 28 in Bleu Izmir and thought it was gorgeous, but ultimately let it go since I didn't find it easy to get into (to say the least) and I didn't like how it looked if you tuck the flap inside and leave it open. I still think about it sometimes, but I don't regret it leaving my collection. The Evelyne is my perfect bag for ease of everyday use, but the Jypsiere is so darn pretty!

I have 3 J28. Noir and Bleu sapphir in Clemence and Bordeaux in swift It’s my favorite H bag style. I also have noir Evelyn which I use a lot but I don’t consider them interchangeable. J has a more tailored and refined look. I carry Evelyn when I need to put a lot in a bag quickly. I don’t completely close my J so it decreases the fussiness but it still feels secure.( but I don’t let it flop open)
