I love this flat, but tied it just look likes stripes. If someone gets one please post pix of knots!!
I felt the same way! It looked odd on me when tied. So sad because I love the horse head motif.

Well Hello Sunshine !
You look smashing- and the scarves don’t hurt—- your smile always lights a room
My fabulous chic Tanker Toad, I miss you!!!Love love love the colorful JL rainbow - it’s in the window right now at the Chicago H
It’s just so FUN!
You know, it's funny because now that I look I actually have a fair number of what I would consider busy scarves: Le Potager, Le Bal des Oiseaux, Fleurs d'Indiennes, Maitres de la Foret, Mythes et Metamorphoses, Fleurs et Papillons de Tissus, Tapis Persans, Les Chemins Secret and Collections Imperiales. But I think they're busy in a different way. I think the ones that I have either have a symmetry to them or the subject matter is more cohesive or the colors work together in a more subtle way. Does that make sense? Would you agree?I'm OK with busy designs now and then (although I am the only person alive who dislikes Annie Faivre, haha). I don't find them overwhelming, just simplistic and sort of unworthy of Hermes. I like Ugo Gattoni (Hippopolis, the mens' Bains scarf, which I have, and the Battery Park which I have). His designs have lots of different scale and proportion. I hope H hasn't dumped him, because I don't like the new cartoonish guy. The designs don't have the depth, variety, or wit of Ugo, IMO. What is your busiest scarf?
Thank you so much, cherryblossum! I admire your style so much! I would be honored to be your scarf twin!Oh my!! You look faaab!! I should get these two, tooCongratulations!! You made my day!!
I totally know what you mean. A design can be busy but still have variety of scale and depth (the ones you mention first). Comparing Patisserie to the Gloire de la cuisine francaise, the Patisserie looks like a cartoon, the Gloire looks like drawings. I like the idea of Cosmographie and Animapolis, I just wish there were less of it, you know? Even La Patisserie is rather busy, but there's a certain symmetry to it. Or maybe symmetry isn't the right word; I'm not sure what is.
Yes, I definitely see what you mean, especially with the Patisserie v. the Gloire.I totally know what you mean. I love the way you expressed appreciation for each designers art whether they are your particular taste. I totally agree. Each scarf is a work of creativity and exquisite art. Love so many!I love Jan B and his work! Lots of detail and movement and color makes a scarf interesting, but not busy or flat to me. Animapolis has 40 colors! That blows me away, no wonder a piece takes two years from finished art to store. For me it comes down to appreciating every single artist H engages, as I work with creative artists and understand a great deal about their process, dream lives, and humanness. Even with the scarves or artist’s work I really don’t like or wouldn’t buy, my underlying respect for the artist and their work shines through when I look at each piece. I’m so glad H focuses so much on scarves. I feel particularly blessed to love these magnificent silky pieces of art and even to own a fair number and the best part is we each get to buy and wear exactly what appeals to us in the colors and patterns and formats that sing to each one of us - no matter what anyone else thinks!! My goodness if H only made a certain few kind of scarves very similar each season what ever would we spend all our time doing instead of stalking for intel here!
Now back to Fall Winter 19!! I’m blown away by so many pieces this season, and I fear as Ladybaga does that drawer space for orange boxes is not going to be easy to come by! And finally they seem to be trickling in, thank goodness. Have a great weekend everyone!
I generally leaned toward the more elegant "dressy" scarves, although I wear them with everything, I simply thought they were more classic. I still love them, but I find scarves like Jan B.'s and Gattoni's have a lightness of touch that are very playful and retro modern, like good New Yorker Cartoons. Moreover they are fun to wear with daytime clothes when you don't want to feel too cool for school. If the colors are good I think they are incredibly charming and very fresh and witty and French.I love Jan B and his work! That is beautiful! Now I would love seeing modeled , to see how it drapes... very beautiful! After drooling over 92 pages, finally got my first scarf mail of the season. Foresee many coming...La Cite Cavaliere in CW11 Ciel/Cream/Rouge. Love it!
Thank you Winter4 - I only wish I could do what any of these artists do!! Lucky for us we get to enjoy by association.I love the way you expressed appreciation for each designers art whether they are your particular taste. I totally agree. Yes indeed katriona - it’s also fun to evolve as we continue collecting, I buy a scarf sometimes thinking what am I doing, it’s so not me, and then it’s fabulous!!I generally leaned toward the more elegant "dressy" scarves, although I wear them with everything, I simply thought they were more classic. Busiest scarf is Into the Canadian Wild, shortly to be ‘re-homed’. I think Alice Shirley is fantastic and I love the ‘picture’ of this scarf but for me it’s a hard one to wear.I'm OK with busy designs now and then (although I am the only person alive who dislikes Annie Faivre, haha). Thrilled you were able to get this one! And I absolutely couldn't agree more- I LOVE this design and CW! Much warmer than comes across in the photos. I was also able to buy it (after trying it, thinking, going back to have it GONE!! and then stalking it- very dignifiedI'm very pleased to have been able to snag my No.1 wish list item for the season. Presenting Acte III 140 CSGM in CW 22. I know there have been some modelling shots earlier so none of those (please ask if you'd like me to make some) but just real life close-ups/details for those considering this model. It is everything and then some. In the H photos it comes over far more gray than IRL. It's a neutral lover's dream. I was besotted with the design in the 90cm format but no CW worked for me. This is everything!!!
The contrast trim in H orange, the majority of the brown is really aligned with the what H calls "gold" in their leather offerings (i.e. camel), the background is natural and most of the artwork is "drawn" in black.

I just gave a test run after receiving it and it appears to be pretty nice when tie together or simply throw on. The colors blended nicely. This design is fascinating. I wonder if there is other « real » monuments besides Notre-Dame. I can spot some castles on the left upper corner that could be la Bastille and château de Vincennes. I enjoy this reinterpretation of old maps. I wish they have had some streets name, that would have been fun.
I suppose it ties well, isn’t it?
