Kachinas Wash Silk ?!!!
Oh no... I am doomed... help!
This really confirms what DH said two seasons ago, that H launches a new format (in this case: wash silk) to re print old designs and trap us older collectors/lovers who already have them and are not so much in love with all the new (not really so “ beautiful”) scarfs.
Just a few weeks ago a SA was telling me, referring to the new GM triangle format, that a new format will turn much more expensive if it’s also produce in the following season... just like it happened with the wash silks! Remember the huge price increase from the first season (Pani) to their second one? (Equateur)?

I’m sorry Pegase! :giggle:
Seems like no-one here is ever really happy, either they like too much or too little (designs, CWs, whatever), even when what is shown so far is just a fraction of the entire collection. Even though I love the upcoming collection, I myself am truly glad I only have two must haves and one very likely one on my list. If Kachinas is the only one on your wishlist, you should be good, fingers crossed for you!
Your DH sounds like a wise man. But next to “trapping” older collectors, of course it’s also an opportunity for those that do not care for the classic carré (as in a 90cm regular silk), as well as those that love a design but don’t own it yet for various reasons.
In terms of prices for new formats, thankfully we know that (in Europe) there will be no price increase as that always happens on January 1st, the pricing should be set for this year. ;) (Pani was AW, while Équateur was SS, so a price increase was expected like for all scarves, if not such a big one.)

I have to agree with your DH, I think he's right, but the Kachinas on the ladder looks lovely, it may be worth the extra for those of us that don't have that design (like me) ;). I was also pleased to get an Equateur 90 in such a lovely colour too (Aqua) as most of the recent issues were not a good size for me. I do agree the price increase of the washed silk was OTT from the first issue. It is thicker silk though.

The Balade en Berline in Marble silk looks lovely too but I don't have any connection with that design, I'd like to own something in Marble.

Has anyone tried the giant triangle yet? I ordered a kachinas hopefully will arrive next week.

I bought one and discussed it in the S/S19 thread.
Short version: LOOOOOOOVE it

Check the SS19 thread... many scarfies have shared their giant triangles there...
I had two on my list for this summer season, since I LOVE kachinas... BUT to be really honest, I found this format quite disappointing. With a square format, 90 or 140 you have 4 corners to choose from to display... plus two bias folds plus two more half bias folds, plus a few more special techniques to wear a scarf. With a giant triangle there is only ONE corner to wear! One bias to fold... and not many other options... really... and this is not worth the prize, not for me, not even for kachinas, one of my top 3 designs of all time!
I know there are scarfies with other opinions, but you guys are the only ones I can talk to who understand such H - scarves dilemmas!

I know every season everyone complains that Hermès keeps making BdG in all sorts of crazy variations, but I have to say, this one really takes the cake!
It's my understanding that BdG is the first H scarf a girl is given and that occurs on her 16th birthday.

(Can you imagine being the artist "assigned" to come up with a new BdG design every year/season? They'd go nuts. It must be all the artists take a shot at differentiating BdG.

That's interesting. We have a very in depth thread devoted just this topic if you do search. Let's keep to this year's offering only on here please.
