Do all the fall scarves have this smaller tag? In which case, YES, hallelujah!

I went Weds to NBS for their RTW event but officially no UK stores has AW scarves out yet so I can't tell you. Sometimes I push it sometimes I don't, this season nothing seems a absolute certainty so I didn't press anyone (more there for other things this time). I hope someone who has had the opportunity to have a look across AW19 will be able to tell us.

@AnnaE is our red expert, and she's been poking around some boutiques. Any advice, Anna?

Ah thanks :) for @litchi and @Les Tambours : unfortunately, all I have seen so far are the reds I look good in, which are warm reds. Of course, it is a bit subjective, so here are some more detailed thoughts:

I saw the Acte III CSGM (attached) — I think it is a mix of reds actually, but it sounds like it is not the red you guys are after.

There is a warm-based Kachinas that others have referenced. I didn’t get a close up, unfortunately, but it is on the U.S. website right now.

I saw the La Cité Cavalière scarf as well — that red is less orange to me, and there is less of it, so perhaps that could work? It is not exactly Route H either. Sorry, the close up is suboptimal — it is too much white for my taste, so I just snapped it for reference, but won’t be buying it.

I have only seen La Patisserie Francaise in orange so far, not sure if there is a red CW.

I am heading in today to pick up an order, and I will check it out. @scarf1 and I have the same boutique though, so perhaps they still don’t have that many new ones yet. I am usually alerted when there are new red arrivals, so happy to keep everyone posted.

The ones I have seen had a ‘regular’ tag, but I didn’t look at the wash scarves. My Pierres et Cristaux wash came with a regular tag last season, I believe, so I would be curious to see if they are smaller for wash scarves this season (perhaps to have fewer things flop around in the washing machine?).

Yes, another technique to make it look vintage
To me, the scarves look "washed out" - a pejorative term that I hate to use but it accurately conveys my impression
Probably an acid wash - remember acid (sand) washed jeans? The acid makes the silk feel different - acid washed jeans were softer
They show an extra photo of each wash scarf - on h.com site - the photo is a closeup showing how the colors are duller or washed out looking
IMHO they are using the wash scarves to address the resale market where people go "öh I want a PANI in that AMAZING 1987 cw"
PANI and EQUATEUR were done in heritage cws almost exclusively, WASH CARRIAGE DETAIL has some WASH CARRIAGE cws
PIERRES ET CRISTAUX is a new design done in wash but maybe you noticed it was done in the old TOHU cws (PIERRES has a TOHU vibe - same artist)
IMHO the wash cws are more retro than than the regular reissue cws - but it is hard to say what is a reissue anymore - JARDIN DE LA MAHARANI DETAIL with the op art striped border isnt very reissue-y - is that a word? We could spend hours defining what is a reissue ...
But the wash fabric is intended to make the scarves look old - no question about that

They were loaded with Acte III CSGM's last Saturday. I doubt they are all gone, although the S/A said the Acte III was "flying out of the store." By the way, I think the service at Madison is excellent. My old S/A left the end of last year, and I had no problem finding helpful people.
Cealon (pronounced Sell-on) Leggins helps me at the Madison store even though I don’t live there, so it is phone and email. Wonderful help.

When the wash scarves first came out, they reminded me of that worn clothes look — you know, when you have machine washed your black cotton shirt too many times, and it is obviously ‘worn’ so you have to get rid of it even though it is fine otherwise.

I do think it can work for a more casual look, and I think for many that would be easier to wear than a regular twill carre. I bought Pierres to experiment with, and while I enjoy it, I don’t think I am going to buy more. It wrinkles so much... one needs to iron it after every wear. The ‘worn t-shirt’ thought is always in the back of my mind as well.

Having said that, the Kachinas CWs that I have seen so far felt less ‘worn’ to me, so perhaps they are working on their technique — they looked quite bright hung up, and I only realized they were wash scarves when I came over to have a look / touch. I don’t know if wrinkling is s much of an issue there, either.

I agree with you on the CW theory — none of those scarves are my grails, but many will be happy.

SOTD and cw 01 (CA / turquoise/orange/M [for Multicolour]) of the Mountain Zebra.

WOW! These colors are magnificent in this design. You styled this perfectly with that gorgeous green jacket! I am swooning over here!!! I can already hear my bank account being drained. This is a fabulous season for scarves.
Thank you, Hat Trick, for posting your glorious photo!

At my local store earlier this week, I saw a Mountain Zebra scarf in a CW with turquoise, green, orange and brown. Quite beautiful but not the CW I am waiting for. My SA said another CW showed up earlier and sold immediately.View attachment 4467697
This is a beautiful combination! I will definitely need to try this one on. Thank you so much for posting!
