I can kind of understand the store manager’s (or whoever places an order) tactics here. Every market is different and no one wants to have unsold items that are ‘unpopular.’ At the same time, I wonder how many of these decisions are made out of laziness. ‘No brown scarves ever’ seems like a maxim someone decided on without considering there are lots of shades of brown etc.

My store is newer (Palo Alto) and seems to have good inventory of everything except for red SLGs. Every time I want a new Bastia, a Calvi, what have you, there are never any red ones, and red is actually my default colors for those items. The explanation I got it was that our store attracts a lot of Asian customers (both local and tourists), and they view red accessories as bad luck, so SLGs in those colors don’t sell and are as a result rarely ordered / sent over. I am not Asian myself (nor is the SA who told me), but I have lived in China before, and my understanding is that red is actually considered a lucky color, but maybe I am mistaken here.

Either way, the store has very few red items that are not bags or scarves. Which annoys me to no end, since I have to order them internally or buy them elsewhere.
I thought red was considered to be a lucky color by Asians. I mean, don't some people get married in it?
In Chinese Feng Shui, using a red or blue wallet (including coin bag and card holder), it brings bad luck to wealth, which may cause unnecessary/ unexpected/ risky spending. But for other things like scarf, accessories and even bags, red is considered as a lucky colour.

In my experience a bright pink wallet is just as risky -- I have had a pink H bougainvillea for years which seems to shed money automatically. :)

What are the good luck colours wallets? I am so curious!

I'm using a green one, also cannot stop spending every time I went to my local H store:biggrin:
Generally, pink increases attraction in Feng Shui, can be good ones or bad ones (e.g. admiration, romantic encounters, an encounter you'd rather avoid).

For wallets, black, green, brown, gold/yellow are the lucky colours in Feng Shui.
Since this topic is about scarf, we'd better stick with it:P. For those pursue lucky red from this season, there are already many red scarves showed IRL by some gorgeous ladies, e.g. Pegase Paysage 9 @LadyCupid, Act III 4 @AnnaE , La Patisserie 21 @cherryblossum etc., which are all beautiful. IMO, if someone believes in Feng Shui and follows, it may work by himself/ herself psychological suggestion. For the rest of us, it is just a fun thing to know.

As promised, a few photos of my new Petit Duc 140 giant silk. Sorry about the number of pics, but I hope they can enable someone else to be my twin on this unique CW. Of course I couldn't resist ordering the Lift PM pendant in parme to match the parme in the scarf! ;)
