When I buy a piece of luggage from the LV store, can I only ever order the same tag as a replacement as the one on that bag? For instance, if I buy a blue Taiga Keepall, could I not ask for an orange replacement tag and buy it separately?
You can order luggage tags in different colors and/or luggage tags that go to different pieces. I ordered different colors with my SA.

Are you happy with how your embossing came out? Just curious...
I am. I wanted it small and subtle on this side while still doing a monogram. I do want to do something fun/colorful on the opposite side though if they'll do it. But if I had to pick one I wanted to go subtle. I figured I could always get another luggage tag down the road. Plus they didn't have my preferred Maneki-neko.

View attachment 4383038 Hi all! I just got my Keepall 45 Eclipse and had my initials debossed this weekend. I was hoping to get the new Maneki neko stamp on the other side but the Boston Copley Square location didn’t have this stamp. But, the SA told me they stamp on this side (shown) only. I feel like I see luggage tags with both sides stamped all the time here. What gives? Any thought/recommendations are welcome! I was fine waiting since they didn’t have the stamp I want anyway but I’ll be in DC next month and I’d like to try again. Thanks!
Some stores won't stamp both sides. It is ridiculous. The inconsistency amongst various stores sucks. Just pick one way for all stores.

D93B09B1-0F14-413E-9793-4B07F0AC3E65.jpeg I had my wallet heat stamped in 2016. In the store I could tell they messed it up because there were good patches missing in the B. I told them it doesn’t look good and uneven. They told me they would fix it so I left it there with them. The next day they called me saying it’s fixed and I could pick it up. It looked good. I’m sure they had someone carefully heat stamped over the mistake. 3 years later it looks like it’s chipping away showing the mistake that was made. Is there anything LV will do about this? Can they issue an exchange in this situation? I really don’t want them to heat stamp over again knowing this already happened.

Unfortunately, I think it’s considered normal wear and tear for the heat stamp to chip away. But you can always bring it in and ask.

Hello everybody!
I’d like to start getting my bags and luggage tags stamped on my trips! I just have a couple questions.

Are all stamps available in “blind stamp” form?

Some also look to be more “dyed” inside the stamp than foiled? If I’m correct, this seems like a better alternative to foiling.

I just don’t think anything foil, works in the long run. Any chipping of the foil would absolutely drive me nuts.

My local store always seems to be... less than helpful. I do I usually do my purchasing on vacation. Therefore I don’t have a relationship with a SA. What is your recommendation for me purchasing new tags? 150 for a dirty used tag is just ridiculous.

Any advice/comments would be appreciated!

Hello! All stamps can be done blindly on the luggage tag or bag! I believe what you’re mistaking for dye is actually patina! Even the colored luggage tags (besides Damier ebene type) will patina over time. If you choose to go the foil route eventually, gold and silver tend to take better than colored foil, also the foil will take better to whatever is being stamped with it if the imprint initially before the foiling part is done is deep. I hope this helps!

Blind stamp is available for all designs. In terms of color stamping, usually gold and silver will be the less likely to chip. Color ones will chip easier. But if chipping will drive you crazy, then just blind stamp the pattern and call it a day. Buying luggage tags are tricky. Most of the time unless you know the sa well, stores aren’t likely to sell you a single luggage tag. Of course this vary from store to store and sa to sa. I had luck just asking. I would say for every ten sa I ask, one may say yes! There are luggage tags that look fairly new on eBay (I assume it was cleaned up by someone using some kind of chemical?) for less than $100. Color ones on eBay will always go for more than typical black, vachetta, and brown. Also look at other resell websites for used luggage tags. Other places to look for luggage tags includes Instagram and Facebook clubs.
