I agree with @img. Just ask them politely for that favor, explaining that you have only a short time frame staying in London. I'm sure there will be someone nice enough to waive the wait time. The hot stamp takes minutes to complete, it's just that they have a lot of orders and the SAs can only do it when they are off the selling floor.

I have been told by several different people that they don't make exceptions to the rule. You have to drop it off and come back in 3-5 days to get it. They will not mail it back to you either. Currently, one of the two London stamps is damaged so you would not be able to get that one till the fix it (if they do). The problem is that only one store in London does these two London stamps and they get overwhelmed with requests.

Wow that just doesn’t make very much sense. I mean only 1 store even having them and then no backup stamp and no exceptions? Why make it so hard for visitors? I even have my own tag! Geez

I think it depends on the SA. When I was there, they could arrange that I can come back the next day to pick it up. I was only there for 2 days and I explained that, no problem at all.
