The first picture is of my Mother's only Diamond Ring that she gave to me before she passed away. I had two Diamond Guards made.......one for either side of her ring. She loved what I had done with her ring, and was always so happy when she saw me wearing it! The second picture is of the three rings together...........hers in the center, and the two guards! This ring means the world to me! :cloud9: She passed away two weeks before her 95th Birthday :heart::heart:

This is why I love jewelry. Your mother's ring is soooo beautiful!. And I love it with the two guards!!! It's a classic ring, but with the 'double guards' look, it feels very modern and funky at the same time. What a great idea to have the guards made for either side of your ring. I loooooove this Tillie!

Your rings are gorgeous onegirlcreative! Amazing to wear a ring that belonged tot your great-grandmother!! It is still a 'modern classic'!

Your pearl e-ring is amazing!!! Do you know what the specs are? Love the stacking rings set.

here is my great-grandmother's ring, that is apparently over 100 years old. it is rose gold with two diamonds and rubies, but don't know exact specs. my mom just handed it down to me this past summer.

below is my pear e-ring that is an estate ring that my mom purchased in 1974 and she just handed that down to me a year ago. i wear it every single day!

the band on the very end is also a vintage/estate ring, but i don't know the specs, unfortunately. diamonds and white gold, that's all i know (i purchased this from a pawn shop about 5 months ago).

i also have a gorgeous bracelet that was my grandmother's but i can't wear it because the clasp broke. i love it and it would look gorgeous with my cartier love bracelet, too. i will take a pic tonight or tomorrow and upload!

The love bangle and your grandmother's bangle look like they belong together. What a great combination.
And I can imagine you don't want to loose your pendant. Perhaps you could wear it in special occasions?
:graucho::graucho:
Thank you for sharing!!!!

Frick&frack: where is your jade ring????

ok, i was feeling energetic. here is the pic with my grandmother's bracelet with my love bangle.

also, i cannot believe i forgot about this star of david my grandfather bought for my grandmother. i love it but i never wear it. i'm so afraid of losing it for obvious sentimental reasons, but i really should. i believe it's platinum with 6 diamonds—and a larger one in the middle. sorry for the bad pics!

Oh, Monica.......thank you so much for the nice compliments on my Mother's Ring. She loved the look of my adding the Diamond Guards, and that really made me happy! :cloud9:

monica, your grandmother's bracelet is true vintage or almost antique - i can tell by the workmanship - i have one with that type of design from my grandmother. i love your star and you should wear it but replace the clasp with something sturdier - that kind of clasp can catch and break easily.

just call me loser girl...worked through lunch today so I didn't get home to take pics (or let the dogs out).

I don't know too much about it. it's clear that the top piece is art deco, could be WG or platinum, with 2 mine cut diamonds that are gorgeous. there are 2 pieces of carved jade underneath (looks like imperial jade to me). the setting is a lovely rich 18k which looks handmade. the ring is nearly knuckle to knuckle. I'll try to get modeling shots this week.

onegirlcreative-- such gorgeous pieces! the RG flower ring looks so obviously handmade by an artisan...love it! I love your mix/match wedding stack...of course with that stunning pear!:graucho: you should definitely have the clasp fixed on your grandma's bracelet to wear with your cartier bracelet.

i know, i agree. i took it into my jeweler before it completely broke and at the time it was fine, but still not 100% secure. but it completely broke off a few months ago and of course, i haven't worn it since. i will have to bring it back in and see what he can do, as it's too beautiful not to wear. i hate to keep it locked away in my jewelry box, too!

i love my pear and i love that i have mix/match stacks, too. i keep looking at pawn shops for more as i love to keep the collection going. amazing what you can find.

why don't you have your jeweler add a safety chain to your grandma's bracelet? that way if the clasp breaks, it won't fall off.

I remember your story about having good luck at a pawn shop. I'll have to try that myself.

OneGirlCreative Those are stunning pieces - I can understand why you love them so much.

thank you so much, vintage!!! :hugs:

ITA with everything F&F says!!!!!!! :cloud9:

ahhh...you're so sweet! thank you.

here are my specs for my pear e-ring:

center stone: 2.76 carats
side baguettes: .50 carats each
color: L

i tried bringing it to my jeweler about 6 months ago right after my mom gave it to me and at the time, it wasn't broken but wasn't really secure either. he tighten things up a bit but then a few months ago, it broke out completely. it's so old because my grandfather gave it to her in the 30s or 40s, so god knows how long it held up, kwim?

i will definitely bring it back to him and see if he can fix it because right now i can't wear it all because the clasp is completely broken, which breaks my heart!

pawn shops are the best! but, like tj maxx or marshalls, they're hit or miss. it's mostly junk in there, tbh, but i have found some really amazing pieces, too! you never know.

F&F I love it! the art deco workmanship is gorgeous. please post a modeling pic.

Gorgeous! This ring was worth the wait Frick&Frack!! I would love to see how it looks on your finger. I really like the combination of WG/platinum and the jade and YG. The ring is so beautifully made; I can see it was handmade. Lovely ring!!! Do you have a preference for rings F&F? I like jewelry in general but I have a huge preference for rings.
Looking forward to see your modelling pics!
