wow I would die to find stuff like that thrifting...I can't even find decent vintage bags at my stores :( no one where I live has expensive taste LOL it's all knock offs and costume stuff where I am...I do have some nice costume pieces but I'm allergic to the metal it makes me itch so I can only wear them for a few hours at a time. I have only ever purchased one piece though the rest I have gotten from my grandma when she gets tired of things lol
It would be nice to find real gold pieces at a thrift store though!

I found a fun old treasure recently in a consignment shop. Anyone remember (or have any) of these "Black Alaskan Diamond" (actually hematite, I believe) rings from the 1950's/60's? It is beyond retro, but I am enjoying wearing it for fun, since getting it all polished up!
This one is set in 10k yellow gold. (Quite heavy gold.)
Some of you might remember seeing one of these on your Mother's or Grandma's finger?

Here's the two antique rings I have. The diamond solitaire was my mother-in-law, who got it from her mother, who got it from her mother, who got it from an elderly lady to thank her for the help she'd given. It's approximately 120 years old. The metal is platinum, the centre stone is 1 carat European mine cut diamond, and the accent stones approximately .20 points(1/5 of a carat).
The gold band I purchased years ago from an antique shop in England. It's 14k gold, and was made somewhere in Europe approximately 100 years ago. I love them both, I think they're unique! Here's some pics for you:

Yes I think he is too. The reason why he enjoys looking at my old stuff is that there is a very old 14 k rose gold heart bracelet in there. It was a very special piece that my motherinlaw gave me a few years back that was her mothers 1st wedding anniversary gift. This would be my sons great grandmother which he never met because she passed away over 20 years ago. And theres also alot of stuff from his other great grandmother whom is still alive at 87 years old. Then theres my stuff which Ive been collecting since I was 8 yrs old. I thought it was funny that he liked this stuff so much because he is a boy and not a girl. I do know the real reason behind it and that is the family pieces that have been handed down over the years. He really enjoys the family aspect of things and for that I can truly appreciate how he feels. Thanks for sharing your kind words with me.

I remember my little boy cousin who whined at his mom when she said shes gonna give her jewelry to his sister. He said, " how about me mom?" And she laughed. She said his dad is the one whos gonna give him stuff one day and the little boy replied what should he do with all the raybans and rubber shoes haha
