Today I upgraded my top wesselton princess studs (1.65 ctw) for studs with old cut diamonds (2 ctw). My new studs looks about the same size as my princess cut. I fell in love immediately with the warm diamonds. I paid an amount today and get them later. I will post when I have received them.
Here are some recent online thrift buys. I simply am in lovewith my Miriam Haskell Necklace (dimple Baroque Pearls with rhinestone latch). The Schiaparelli necklace, and two CZ necklaces with the CZ tennis bracelets along with the three strand rhinestone bracelet. All purchased on Goodwill.....I love that site.
I can't believe I just found this thread! I collect vintage clothing, jewelry & accessories from the 1930s-50s. For jewelry, I tend to focus on the 1940s and have a decent-sized collection of bakelite - mostly necklaces, pins, and bangles. I also have a lot of war-era "sweetheart" jewelry. This is jewelry that would have a military theme. Guys serving in the military would buy it and give to their sweetheart back home, so it would be obvious that the lady wearing it was "taken" by a Marine or whatever. Neither are considered fine jewelry or are exceptionally valuable due to materials, more the contextual aspect as a piece of history. I'll have to take a few photos and share some of my collection.
I also have some amethyst pieces from my grandmother, and a set of gold turtle pins with jade & pearls as the turtle's shell. There is a set of 3 of those and they belonged to my mother and her 2 sisters (1 each).
^ coco, your pic isn't displaying.
midg, what lovely pieces you have.
