Hello there,
I hope there is someone who can help! Has anyone attempted to clean the inside of a leather Garden Party? I have purchased a preloved but the interior is very dirty/grubby with various stains and I wondered what the best way would be to clean the cotton interior?
Thanks in advance everyone, have a lovely New Year.
Vivien

Do you live near a Hermés store? I wouldn’t mention the preloved part when talking to a SA, but they repair/Spa their products regardless of where it was purchased. I would ask at the store or call a store, for advice. I don’t know if sending it to a Spa would help, but sometimes I think it’s better to leave some things to the professionals. Especially the repair and cleaning of expensive things.
Best of luck and congratulations on getting your bag!

Actually, Hermes will not clean or treat the interiors of bags. My SA actually thinks it’s because of a client of hers years ago who brought her Birkin in for spa after her dog had peed in it. They sent the bag to spa, and the word came down shortly thereafter that they would no longer clean the insides of bags. Who knows if that’s really why, but that is the policy.

Good to know. Thank you!

Thanks for the info but the update is...... it's not authentic. Hasn't arrived yet but as I was fawning over the pics I noticed a glaringly obvious difference in the bag compared to others. How I did not notice it beforehand I do not know! Am so disappointed and also annoyed with myself for jumping the gun (it was a 'buy it now' on the bay). Just awaiting arrival before starting the returns process....... and of course seeing others I could purchase in the meantime with the money tied up!

So excited to share my new baby in bleu indigo epsom leather. I was so surprised by how light epsom leather is compared to negonda leather.
I originally had a GP36 but sold it due to it being to big and heavy for my lifestyle, but the GP30 is perfect.

For those who have a GP in epsom leather, can you please tell me how it is holding up? I’ve read mixed reviews on epsom leather.

I second this question about the epsom. I’m considering getting the GP36 in Epsom as a work tote because I need something roomy and lightweight, but am worried about the wear and tear on the corners.

The GP has no metal feet on the bottom so the leather is touching the ground everytime you're not carrying it. Epsom is great in terms of weight but unlike that in a wallet, the corners are going to see more wear and tear if you use as a workhorse.

I almost never put my bags on the ground, but the lack of metal feet is annoying. For the price, it seems like something the bag should have. I'm more concerned about the inevitable bumping and rubbing against things that will happen as I carry it. Is it always impossible to do repairs on the corners? Or just very difficult, costly, and time consuming? I probably would not consider the GP in negonda or the heavier leathers because it will just be too heavy when it's all loaded up.

I never put my bags on the floor unless it is carpet at home but even that will rub off corners over time. There is no repairs that you can do except to have send for a spa or local cobbler to touch up with new color. Remember that Epsom is an embossed leather and is thin. I think that the difference in weight between Epsom and Country is a matter of a three ounces or so.
