I agree, the Gabrielle is much more suited to every day use. I have a number of boys in many different sizes but I use them like once a year. I have one Gabrielle in medium and I use it daily to go to work and as a travel bag. If you are looking to get a bag for special occasions then I would pick the boy.

Hi guys,
Chanel Gabrielle size Small has been growing on me. I'm debating between the all black vs. the black/beige vs. the all gold.
They are all super stunning and I just can't really choose! (in an ideal world we would prob want to get them all... but not in this case).
I feel like I would get the most use out of the all black. Tho the gold is so special and I always wanted a metallic bag. I just feel like gold might be too out-there but it's pretty. Beige and black is chic and elegant. Choosing bags is almost like having an identity crisis.
What color do you find working best with Chanel Gabrielle? Can you girls help me with this color selection? Thanks a tons!

I’d say all black too. Gold is pretty but personally I find it not as classic and worry if I’ll get tired of it one day. Beige black is elegant but if you intend to use often or daily bag maybe color transfer will happen sooner or later. Black will never go wrong and such a cool and modern vibe in this style.

I have the small in black too and love the look of it very much.

I have an old medium boy and a medium gabrielle. Personally, I slightly prefer the gabrielle myself but this is simply because I can’t find much use for the boy considering my current collection. But that’s just me. I think they are very different, so it would be like comparing apples with oranges tbh. My best advice is to go try them on and see which you fall in love with.

A few things to consider:
- How do you plan to use this bag (for work, weekend, etc) and what else you already have in your collection? Which size are you considering? Neither is an all-occasion bag imo. For example, small/old medium boy not really practical for work and may or may not fit your daily essentials. Same with small gabby, and medium gabby isn’t elegant enough for evenings...
- Boy is structured and gabby is slouchy. Do you have any preference either way?
- The boy will scream Chanel at first glance while the gabrielle is under the radar? Any preference here?
- Seems like the boy may be here to stay whereas gabby’s future is still left to be seen. Do you mind about this?
- Some people don’t really like the chains on the gabby and some are worried that the base won’t stay pristine. On the other hand, some feel the boy very boxy and difficult to access.

Thanks so much for your input! I was thinking the medium gabby looked a bit big in photos but now I can't wait to go in store to try!

I love your response. I’ve been away from Chanel for some years already, but the Gabrielle bag lures me back in. I also like the Boy since the first release, but find them not practical for me. For me, Gabrielle fits all the criteria you listed out and I can’t wait to try them on this weekend.

Still have to decide on the color though. I can’t make up my mind between black and beige.

I have this same problem, black or beige. If only I could get both. [emoji28]

Was wondering if anyone who has the Gabrielle for a while now - change their mind about it?

I admit the first thing that attract me to the bag was the CC logo. Just felt so special to me. I have the small in all black and I feel that it is tad small for my frame. But I know I will not like the medium cause I only do mini bags. It fits quite a bit and I do enjoy the functionality

Whilst it is functional - the chain is driving me nuts. It just feels too much and sometimes I just don’t know what to do with it. I am not sure whether I shld just sell it cause honestly I a bit 50/50 with it right now. I just hope I don’t change my mind down the road.

Who here has bought it and sold it away. Was wondering how u feel about it after u sold it

Just to update I end up selling my Gabby. I felt okay and manage to get a reasonable amount.

When I was cleaning my bag for resale just realised that my bag base was bad. There was white scuffs and there was scratches and there was even a tiny peeling. Guess the bag is not as carefree as I like it to be. It could be the way I use it. But do check ur base regularly !

Hi all! I’ve been thinking about getting the Gabrielle medium bag in black but I had a few questions for current Gabrielle owners. I have a Fendi peekaboo Selleria in the regular size but it’s just too structured and a little too heavy for me. My fear is that the Gabrielle would be similar and I won’t know until I actually use the bag. I need an everyday bag and something that is not so structured that it feels like a hard box is constantly hitting the side of my body when I wear it on my shoulders or crossbody. I had a proenza schooler PS1 bag and I have to say that it’s been my favorite everyday bag (comfort & practicality wise) up to date - and I’ve own a few luxe bags over the years. I tried it on in stores but I guess you don’t really know until you take it home. Any advice would be of great help. I also understand that the base can be a problem with surface wear and I am ok with that. I don’t want to baby my everyday bags, but I also am careful to an extent.

That’s exactly my fear too! Have been checking constantly when I use it so I’m thinking to sell it too......maybe it’s part of the look the carefree vibe but unfortunately not mine [emoji23]
