This morning I visited the Atlanta H boutique and there was Pirouette au Galop in colorway 10 (marine/naturel/beige rose). Like many others, I had assumed it would be black, but H is calling it "Marine" -- to my eye it's a VERY dark navy. I thought you might be interested in a comparison of scarf shades, though I realize colors are different on monitors, and fabrics aren't the same, and you might not have these scarves at hand, etc. I photographed in daylight using my iPhone.

From the top left going clockwise around my Pirouette au Galop CSGM: silk twill 90 Reve de Corail in "Noir" which has previously been noted on this particular scarf to be kind of a "blue-black ink" color rather than pure black; on the right the "monochrome" silk twill 90 Mythiques Phoenix in cream and multiple dark shades, including black and navy in the fan pattern; at the bottom a black top and in the lower left a navy one. I think you can see the subtle "beige rose" of the chalky design, which also has scribbles of "naturel" in it.

I don't know if this will help those who might have written off the "navy" Pirouette, but I think it's worth a look before you assume that it won't work at all with black. To me, the subtle pink/naturel design is interesting enough to balance a difference in background shade, but YMMV.

Great post, ABQ2ATL.....you really nailed it with your pictures and narrative. I'm waiting for Fedex to deliver the Pirouette au Galop tomorrow. And of course, you're wearing it in your always inimicable elegance.

This is great, thank you. And I love it with the taupe top you have on!

Did you like it after you tried it on? This is one design I'm interested in and my SA says she has a light grey one for me. I was hoping for a darker cw, so we'll see.

I think the pattern doesn't show that well in this CW. It's however very easy to wear. You can't go wrong with this color combo. But I'll probably wait for a different CW with more contrast on the "spiders". To have the option of having a "pop" for a somewhat neutral scarf when you want.

This is a most excellent color comparison, ABQ, and very helpful! Thanks.

Considering how tiny it is, the boutique in Aix-en-Provence has quite a few of the new designs (no cashmeres yet), so I played around with some Space Shopping 90s and gavroches, and a few of the Tresors d'un artiste. CWs 5 and 8 are calling to me, but I am really trying to cut back on 90s....They are holding a Space gavroche for me, so we'll see what happens tomorrow...Everyone's pix here have been so helpful!

Tried on items that I had on my list when I was in Paris yesterday since they hadn't received it yet at my local store.

Didn't walk out with any silks as it's still early in the season and just did some damage at the sale :sweatdrop: but I've narrowed down my pick for Space Shopping au Faubourg! :p

[emoji847] Hi, your Space Shopping photos feature the three colour ways that I thought looked best online - which did you prefer? [emoji848]

Which one is that, Lynn? I have the magenta (cw04) ....the only other cws I've seen are black tire, green tire, blue tire, and brown tire. I haven't seen a red tire. The brown is red-ish. Please post a pic! This is my favorite design right now.
Someone posted a picture of it several months ago on the Spring Thread. I will see if I can find it again. Maybe in May?

Thank you so much for this info ABQ2ATL - it's very helpful indeed. I am finding it hard to think of cashmeres in 35 degree heat but I know I must!!! I do love this design.

Thank you for your comments, doves75 -- the dark Pirouette was the only one I saw in the boutique, but I was only looking for this one! I believe there are seven colorways, though. You can "search thread" for Pirouette au Galop and find Yodaling's images about halfway between here and the beginning of the thread.

Thanks, werner -- let us know what you think when you get your Pirouette. I'll feel fine wearing mine with either black or navy pants, but I really got into wearing black & navy together last year...

Thanks, Pautinka -- in Atlanta the air conditioning is turned up so high everywhere that I never leave the house without a wrap, and usually have to put it on at some point! This will be perfect year-round for me.

Do tell! ;)
Thank you for sharing the Pegase d'Hermes au bloc in white. I've been thinking about that and the 2 blue cw's. :)
