Soooo happy you are keeping this beauty!! This season I am being over cautious. Waiting to see all CWs of the designs I want before I take the plunge! I need to be super picky to be able to make good use of every shawl in my collection[emoji51][emoji51]... I don't like to wait but I am forcing myself this time [emoji85]... Will post as soon as I take the plunge [emoji8]

You are so good! [emoji8]

Hello fellow scarfies!
I am enjoying and referring to all posts and comments here almost every day!
Today I purchased my first cashemere shawl this season. I am happy to share this with you!

Hello, dear cb! The shawl looks so beautiful on you. :hbeat::hbeat: :hbeat:
Congratulations on your first purchase of the season!

According to @ElainePG 55 Bandanas don't count  which made my choice even easier. I always liked Grand Manege and I absolutely love the colours on this little scarf so it was a done deal - and yes it was very breezy by the sea. I don't know whether it was the scarf but people were so nice and friendly to me today, perhaps it makes me look a bit more approachable rather than the more serious scarves.

If there are any other Bandana lovers please feel free to contribute here: http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/the-bandana-fan-club.951131/ as at the moment it seems a very select fan club :coolio:

You look terrific, papertiger! I had no idea there was a bandana fan club. I'm heading over there now! :sunnies:

These two are my first venture into the shawls QuelleFromage so I am afraid I have no knowledge of how they were before. I had read others' comments so thought I would ask when I was in the store. Please could you say what the fibre composition used to be?
Hello my dear and apologies, I haven't been on the forum lately.
The cashmere/silks were a 65% cashmere/35% silk blend until maybe a year or 18 months ago (?? I really don't remember, just remember getting Caducée Rock a bit after the change). Now they are 70% cashmere and 30% silk. Personally I like this mix much better, it's thicker and softer IMO.
I am quite ignorant when it comes to the scarf world so do not know the history of the blend used on CS shawls and scarves, but knowing H it has probably varied over time :)

I had read here on tPF--and I have no idea if it's true--that Hermes used to round their cashmere content down (i.e., it's something like 67% and they used to round it to 65%) and now they round it up. In other words, the fabrication hasn't changed, only the tags have. But, again, i don't know if this is true, and if folks are feeling that the scarves now have a different "hand," perhaps they do have more cashmere content!

I shared the rounding up/down info early this year after a conversation with the Store Manager at my local boutique, she's been with the company for a long time and I trust her info. As the updated content tags didn't come with a price increase I would tend to believe it's just a rounding up change. More cashmere would likely result in more expensive fabric. I don't see a big difference in the shawls year over year. I see differences more related to the amount of printing a design has that affects the hand feel and pilling. This turned into a big debate the last time it came up which I am not trying to start up again. I know that in 2012/2013 people were unhappy with the CS blend and they seem to be correcting that. My 2014 Zebra pilled quite a bit but my others from 2015/16 have not. (shrugs)

Sorry I didn't credit you for the intel, MrsO. I would agree that the hand differs with the printing (sometimes certain colors, especially white, feel stiffer) and the pilling issue, in my mind, would have more to do with the length of the fibers used in the weave (shorter fibers pill more readily) than the percentage of cashmere per se. I was a buyer of CSGMs before the tag change, and I am still a buyer, so for me the appeal of the size, design and colorway outweigh a possible 5% cashmere difference.

My SA told me the extra cashmere content was real, but who knows? They felt noticeably different to me but I don't have an older CS item in the house to compare.
