Did anyone ever get to see the Fall 2012 Cavalcadour Clair de Lune? It came in only Terre (shown) and Rouge Lacque. I was intrigued and wondered if a tPFer would get it but it seems to be a unicorn of sorts, especially with the season ending...

Chestnutty........are you saying this is the leather scarf? That's where the link sent me. So, I'm a tad confused as the scarf I said was dark with a lack of detail looked like a twill. Perhaps I am mistaken. Since I've been collecting for about 50 years I expect Hermes to produce glorious scarves. Indeed, that is in the eye of the beholder. Yes, I wear them although at this point there are not enough days in the year, lol. Just remember how long I've been at it. But I truly treasure each and every one.

As an avid reader, and hopefully a contributor to many TPF threads, I can't say I'm wowed by the majority of the scarves I've seen for 2012 or 2013. I've bought selectively from these issues and absolutely understand while some don't work for me they are spectacular on others. Guess I'm venting a touch here.

Just saw a glorious Kelly in deep rose today which DH loves as well and that was totally unexpected. Well, I'm giving it serious thought as I may take some of my scarf money and put it into another Hermes bag to compliment my scarf collection.

On an upbeat note: There's always something Hermes that captivates us and our tastes are quite diverse. Frankly, I think that's a good thing.

However,

However,
I maybe mistaken as well, but the scarf shown by BritAbroad (and in the booklet) says it's silk and looks wrinkled as such. I think Uno used a question mark after showing the scarf as he/she is not sure what it really was based on the picture, leather or not, because of the flash lighting (the way it drapes was a tad weird for silk as well). I think we're talking about the same scarf as the corner details and color looks the same to me, only the materials seem to be different.
I recalled someone mentioned this scarf was treated with cigar smoke or something, hence the color and distressed look.
I actually liked 2012 scarves a lot and I bought most of the designs in the Fall 2012 collection. I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, which is good because everyone's taste changes throughout a lifetime.

Not sure if you are still looking for the Magic Kelly summer twill 140cm. There are two in the boutique in Charlotte, NC in pink and orange colorway. Just saw them today on display. Let me know if you want my SA contact.
Also, Charlotte store also has two Axis Mundi mousseline in a muted petrole blue/purple colorway. It's not a changeant so I passed and waiting for the fuchsia colorway to arrive next year (after the price increase, yes they time it so well :sweatdrop:).
Hi Chestnutty...Are you from the Charlotte, NC area? I recently moved to Wilmington from Green Bay, WI so the Charlotte store is my closest store now. I'm looking for the Kachinas summer twill in the coral colorway, as well as the Brazil II dip dye in 03. If you have any other suggestions as to what I might find in Charlotte, I'd be very appreciative!! Thanks!

Yes, Chestnutty, I recall it being a question as to if it's leather or not, but not certain.
I agree, it looks a tad odd for a silk in the photo but I don't know all of the details of the treatment, only the cigar smoke you mentioned...maybe there's an additional treatment(s) that's causing it to drape this way?

I enjoyed 2012 very much too. I'm glad that not everything appealed to me enough to buy (quite frankly, I pray for moderate personal appeal for the sake of my bank account) so if a Season only offers one or two keepers I'm happy.
That's what's nice about H, it spans so many genres and not everything is for everyone. Collections are scant enough to track down at times, imagine if we all loved everything?!

I love looking at tPFer's scores and grails, they may not all be my taste but are no less beautiful or enjoyable to share.

Not a bad idea.. 'Praying for moderate personal appeal' - also for the sake of my bank account. I may need to start doing the same as there were so many 2012 scarves that I liked too! Lol ;)

I did not see this Cavalcadour as a scarf but I did see it as a gentleman's shirt in the Bond Street store in London.

It was silk ( silk twill I think) treated to look rather distressed. It certainly didn't smell of cigar smoke but I suppose it could have been part of the treatment. It looked distressed and wrinkled without actually feeling distressed and wrinkly. I only saw it in the 'terre' colourway. I did like it but it was definitely a masculine take on the design. If it was a bit brighter it would make a fabby 140cm shawl.

It might have been treated with tea.

I did some research on this scarf, but i have not seen it in natura. It was supposed to come to only 2shops here in Germany. Its a 90x90 silk twill with a special dying precidure (i heard something about smoke too...) the price was almost 500€... I dont understand why they advertise it in such a predominant way in the booklet, and then make it practically imposible to get! If this was another brand, we would discard it! But again we "forgive" H once more how it treats its costumers.....

My SAs had never heard of this scarf. I wonder if this is the same silk as Lanit's
crinkle Coaching scarf?
