I just bought the new Estrela nm in noir. Should I return and look for a preloved one or keep the new model one? All input is appreciated! Thanks ladies

My dear you really have to decide this for yourself as it is hard for us here to make this decision for you. I can only tell you what I like personally and I do not care for the new shape of the Estrela. I do believe the old model Estrela is one of LV's best and very well made bags. So I guess you have to really ask yourself some questions. Do you want new or preloved? Seeing how the old Estrela is discontinued this one would have to be preloved. Do you want vachetta, the black or cherry leather trim? I do not know what bags you currently own or your lifestyle but I know for a lot of young ladies choosing the black or cherry trim will make the bag more of an all weather bag than the vachetta. Unless of course you have a bag that fits that bill already. Those are a few questions to ask yourself to help you come up with a decision.
I like hearing pros and cons for purses and I weigh my options I have a neverfull mm mono, neverfull gm azur, totally mm ebene, galliera gm mono, speedy mono pink v, odeon gm mono, delightful pm mono, retiro pm, favorite mm mono and Bosphore pochette mono. I'm a tote girl all the way and my original plan was to buy another neverfull mm since I use my other one so much. I'm only 5 feet but I love big bags
Definitely get it. I have used it almost nonstop for the past few months and this is coming from someone that used to switch out her bag daily or weekly. I really can't think of any cons except that it doesn't have an outside pocket but that might detract from the beauty of the bag so I don't really miss it. I also have the totally and the neverfull. I haven't used my neverfull in probably a year, and while I love the Totally, I find myself missing the Estrela when I'm using the Totally. Feel free to ask more questions. I agonized over whether to get it and several lovely ladies here were very helpful.
One more thing. Buy new. It's worth it. They don't come up for sale often and when they do they are only a couple hundred dollar less than new. For me it's peace of mind knowing that if I were to have any issues, LV will stand behind it which they might not do with a pre loved bag.
I bought it new in the noir and I've been debating as I was worried about the long strap putting strain on the bag and I was also worried about how the shoulder handles were connected to the bag...if the leather would rip. But this has been helpful thank you. I wanted another neverfull but left with this one and it's nice cause it's more elegant. It's different enough from the nv but still within my comfort zone of what I know and knowing that I'll use it. I'm thinking more and more about my purchases since prices have gone up and don't want to buy just for the sake of buying and then it sitting there. I've been purging lots of my unused beauties!
I use it as my work bag so I carry my 14" laptop along with cosmetic case, small agenda, phones, and full size wallet and I have not had any issues. However, I mostly carry by the shorter shoulder straps. If you are planning on using the longer strap you may not like how the bag folds in when full.
I'm also very careful to the point of obsession about my purchases and I don't regret this one at all.
Hello, Estrela lovers! I'm an old TPF member but don't post very often. I'm really wavering on the Estrela and would love your feedback. I have a lot of LV bags, but use my Damier Ebene Neverfull MM the most. My only complaints about it are that it doesn't have a zip close and that it seems like everywhere I look everyone seems to have the exact same bag. I head to Seattle and SF a lot and feel more comfortable with a zipped bag so I'm thinking about the Estrela in cherry. I'd love to know if it is comfortable to carry most days (not too heavy), if the red trim is as delicate as I fear it may be (rain, color transfer, scratches, etc) and will it look too big on someone who is petite (I'm 5'2). I've got the bag on hold and am heading into the store to make my decision tomorrow. My other choice is the Totally MM.
I have the Estrela NM in aurore. Picture is earlier in this thread I think. I love, love this bag! I have had no issues with the straps or leather with transfer, rain, or scratches. It is a little heavier than a speedy or neverfull but the thickness of the canvas and microfiber lining probably explains that. It feels like a luxurious bag. I am 5'8" and on the plus size so I had to buy a speedy bandouliere strap to wear it cross body. You will probably be fine with the strap it comes with. I don't have the totally to compare so you will have to try it on for your comfort. The Estrella's shoulder strap is a big plus. I don't like bags without a zippered top, so this is a great choice. I thought the lining of the noir was too dark and would collect too much lint. Good luck with your decision! Let us know what you decide.
