mattd in his feelings about P9s this morning… at this point idk why he even posts about LV anymore when he hates it so much.
Mattd cares about LV but he's seen so much crap, he cannot but help voice his real feelings. It's true. When you buy P9 and resell (even brand new), the seller loses money. So buyers beware. It's like driving a new car out of the lot.

But of course if you buy what you love and use it, it doesn't matter. But for ppl who actually think they can make money off of reselling....re-think.

So I’ve gone into the store today to pick up my P9 lock charm… side story apparently our SA ghosted from work two weeks back and completely disappeared after. My order came in and I was contacted by another SA, who then shared this info with us today. This is why no one reached out to me regarding the order fulfillment despite it arriving last week. Crazy…

Anyway honestly I’m kinda underwhelmed by the lock charm in person. Haha. Haven’t taken photos yet but our new SA gave us a tour around the new Nigo collection they had in store, including the Sencha and new Pink P9s. I think the darker chaps look great with the sencha, not very sure how I feel about it on the pink. I asked to look at the gold but that one is fully allocated and not available to see in store. Also saw the lock chain charm and it’s indeed very nice, just very heavy and very expensive for a chain.

Some pics!

The bags look great ❤️🔥
Looking forward to seeing a photo of your new lock.

Photos of the lock charm. So it looks nice with the burnished metal look and is pretty substantial in weight, but I have questions as well. For something so pricey was there no better way to present the keys for the lock than the regular speedy lock? The tiny metal ring the keys are on look as flimsy as a paper clip and I don’t even know if simply removing the keys would irreversibly misshape that tiny ring (or should I just assume that’s a disposable part of the charm??). I am also slightly concerned with the small attachment point of the P9 “coin” part of the charm too and really not knowing exactly how durable these are, especially when the charm is subjected to any accidental snagging.

The hook attachment is also a little bit of a question mark to me (yes I am aware it’s a hook all along) too. I have no idea if it would hold well on a bag and I would have a slight fear of it becoming dislodged on a bag especially since I crossbody my P9 25.

And while I ordered the dove because that’s the collection my P9 is from, I keep wondering if I should have ordered the horse instead, given I’m born in the Year of the Horse (coming up next year to remind me of my age!)…

Looks beautiful but yes, I do understand your questions and I thought similar when it seeing it in photos. I’m not really sure how you use the hook safely. I’ve seen the hook used to hang it from the matching heavy chain you can also buy but I can totally imagine it coming loose if used this way. I think it would be fairly secure if you ditch the hook and just lock it through the side of the P9 bag but yeah, the keys would have to come off.

Yeah the lock will function as a lock for sure, but then essentially half the charm is rendered useless and it really makes no sense to me that the whole charm isn’t 100% useable if you know what I mean? Maybe if I use the remainder as an additional attachment for a Labubu??? Lol.

Dress the Labubu as a pirate 🏴‍☠️ then add the hook 🪝 That could totally work 😆

That second photo isn’t even depicting the charm properly - if the keys are inserted into the lock, then what’s holding the second key to the coin part of the charm? I don’t understand how that works. Haha.

The first one is definitely more secure but all that excess stuff attached to the lock can’t really do anything and doesn’t look clean…

I know I’m nitpicking but it’s just that the idea is great but the execution just doesn’t feel very coherent. If they just sold the lock as a lock instead of forcing it into a frankencharm (and also raising the cost) it may have been better…

If you're born the year of the horse, you should get the horse. Wouldn't that be more special? But having said that, I think the P9 doesn't really need these locks nor the heavy metal chain charm. Why add weight to an already heavy bag?

I was more focused on matching the Easter egg of my P9 rather than the animal itself which in hindsight is giving me more than usual buyers remorse. Haha.

I don’t think the lock charm is that heavy, certainly not as much as the chain charm would honestly. It doesn’t add that much weight to the P9 comparatively. And honestly when are we ever talking about need when it comes to these purchases? It’s all wants.

I agree with you, would have been far better to have just been the lock. Are you going to keep it? If I were to buy one I would get the Lion being a Leo as my star sign.
