The Dumbest Reason You Ever Gave For Buying a Bag

Just stumbled into this thread and laughed several times. Here's mine:

I have to buy it because the other colors are selling out so I have to get the color I want before it's gone.

I'm embarrassed how many times I've actually said that.
But this is not a dumb reason! This is a true reason. We've seen it happen time and again, and many people have been sad. I commend you for realizing the loss that could have been!

You should also try "this is Pantone's colour of the year":giggle:

I am very serious about finding a Very Peri bag now.

If you've never visited the thread, "What Kind of Extension Cords do LV Owners Use," you should. You will see so many, very reasonable bag purchases to make their extension cords. @Sunshine mama has a beautiful example here:

This thread, and this one, ought to be in tPF Hall of Fame.

Currently contemplating a reason a use frequently: but it's mini! Also a bit of the fashion genies granted my wish and it's less than $200 despite the fact that I'm currently waiting on a couple of bags. What about the excuse that my red bag didn't arrive for Lunar New Year? Does it become a legitimate reason if my red bag doesn't show up for Valentine's Day? Please (send) help!

If the red bag did turn up before Valentine's Day, I can still get the other right?

I think I'm a helpless case. I keep trying to remind myself that I can appreciate without possessing.

I do need it in a pebbled leather. Smooth leather is just so prone to scratches and I really love the shade.
A year ago I would have totally agreed with you. Now I am veering into the whole "smooth leather has it's own unique characteristics" and "I own enough pebbled leather, I don't have to be rough on every bag, maybe I just need to try it out on a small bag, just to see how forgiving the patina actually is".

My wallet just wants to go back to the days that the only thing I bought was black pebbled leather. Then I opened Pandora's box of colour and box leather and oh my, I get it now.

Would that be a pebbled black leather wallet?:giggle:

I honestly never cared too much about leather texture unless it was one I loved, but it slowly evolved into, this is a structured bag, so would look better in a smooth leather and this is more casual bag, so I want a pebbled leather. Now, I evaluate the properties of different smooth options for how much they slouch to determine whether it’ll work for the bag.

No current excuses for me right now. I’m held back by the fact that I just got a bag (the red one appeared in time) and have one outstanding. Hmm…, does not having excuse count as an excuse to buy a bag?

I use the same excuse for shoes and bags all the time. "I need this bag because I have the perfect shoes to match it" and "I need these shoes because I have the perfect bag for them". When you combine these wonder twins...you end up with the perfect positive feedback loop that leads to numerous instances of retail therapy.

It is Munch's the scream and you can hear a scream when opening it a certain way:giggle:

I love the look of a thick full grain. After a while it just switched. On a full grain a scratch is harder to see, but if it is a deep scratch you can still see it. On a non grained bag the patina evens it out eventually. And I came to the realisation that some bags look best on certain types. By now we all know those creaseless types we see on instagram, and I was just over that look.

Not having an excuse is a great excuse. I am done with all my excuses and on a bag diet. It works for now.
