Can someone help me with this eBay listing for a Cupid - I basically want to know if this bag is from the season that had a lot of hardware issues. I prefer the old style Cupid because of the tassel and extra pocket but I've also read the earlier seasons suffered from hardware issues. This one is gorgeous, it has the cheetah lining as well. Any help appreciated! If this is one from the dodgy season, I can buy a discounted newer one from Amazon but it is obviously missing the tassel and extra pocket.

Cement came out the first season in F/W 2011.

I just got a "pink" Cupid. The color is really more like peach or salmon. I think it will go with a lot of summer clothes. And here in SoCal we have at 6 months of hot weather and a few more mos of warm. I got it new and it has a few scratches but I think that's just inherent with this leather. I usually don't prefer glazed leather but this slouches nicely and I like that. (kind of reminds me of Bal leather)
I don't have my own pics but this looks like the color. Anyone else have a "pink" Cupid?
Do you love it?

I've got a brand new Chocolate Cupid with silver hardware on its way to me! It took me ages to decide between Lavender (which looks more like a taupe to me) and Chocolate but went with Chocolate in the end because I love the contrast of the warm colour with the cool silver hardware and I figured you can never go wrong with a brown bag! The only other warm-toned bag I currently have is an Oak Mulberry Mitzy, all my other bags are cool colours so I'm happy with my decision! Will post pics when she arrives!

I think I'm just going to forget about the scratches and enjoy it. I love the bag, love the color, love the length of the xbody strap, and ideally it breaks in/wears evenly.

I just got this bag and it has the same type of scratches near the top as yours did when you got it. I figured this leather is just prone to light scratching.

The long strap on this bag bothers me a bit. Seems like when you're using the handles (which I would be most of the time) the long strap hangs kind of long (esp compared to my MAM).

Do you still have your pink Cupid? How has it held up?
thanks

Here is my pink Cupid from the OSS

Love it!!!! I have a feeling all the spring 2012 leathers are very similar to each other...... my cobalt's leather is on the thinner side, distressed "veiny" and has a slight sheen to it - you??

I just got a pink Cupid like yours Bluestang. To me this leather seems glazed. I don't think it would be affected by water but maybe due to the lighter color I might use Applegarde to protect from stains. Did you use a stain repellent on your bags?
thanks

Also, another question - how have they held up in terms of scratches? (mine came with a few on it new)

Here is my Chocolate Cupid, I think it is from F/W 2011. Brand new and purchased from a business seller on eBay in the USA.

The second photo is a more accurate reflection of the true colour, it's a gorgeous mahogany brown. Loving the combination of the silver hardware with the warmth of the brown! The leather is not glazed either. It is very soft and almost spongy to touch, quite close in texture to the lamb skin leather of my Balenciaga but perhaps not quite as thin or delicate.

This bag has the extra pocket on the back but no tassel. It has the original slider adjuster on the shoulder strap, not the buckle on the newer Cupids.

The bag is totally me, I'm a Balenciaga lover so I'm a huge fan of studs and pretty hardware on bags! I think my Cupid is going to become a real staple for me!

congrats! this color is very beautiful! and the leather looks very soft and buttery

It is very buttery! I could not really tell from the photos online whether it was a soft leather or glazed, but I knew the colour was right so I just bought it regardless. I'd love a Cupid in the new Soft Grey colour but as I will primarily use it cross-body, I knew colour-transfer would be an issue so it had to be a dark-ish colour!

i suppose spraying some stain-/water- proof lotion on the bag before use should be able to avoid color-transfer. but i don't wear jeans anymore so i don't know if it works.

the more i look at your Cupid in the photos; the more i can picture a block of chocolate - YUMMY! :graucho:

Ha ha! It is a very rich, yummy colour! I always lean towards greys for some reason, I'm glad I went with the Chocolate for this bag though!

Here's an accurate pic of the bag in natural sunlight!
