I don't think the color would take away from the brand. If you like black accessories then you'll probably be very happy. I personally do not like black details against monogram canvas. I just think it classes whIle others love the combo. If you were trying to cover up worn or stained vachetta with the black I would pick a burgundy shade, as it compliments the tones of monogram... but then if that color wouldn't match your wardrobe then that color.doesn't make sense. Pick a color that will go with the majority of what you wear  it won't take away from the brand. Especially a classic color that LV already offers in some of their bags. Like the Reitro, you look at that online you can see what other colors look lIke against monogram print. I like their shade "rasin" myself
I was thinking of dying the vachetta on my bag black as well, then I really looked at it and decided I'd rather just replace the vachetta. So unless I can find one in great condition and less than the cost of replacing the vachetta, I'm going that route. Mine is just too worn and don't think dye would make that much difference.

Hi Noe lovers! I would want to purchase a vintage Petit Noe. I found a seller in my country selling the bag for USD510. Date code is "AR0040" so I believe it is from year 2000. It is in excellent condition except for the watermarks at the bottom. I have posted a pic. Based on my research there is no way to remove the watermarks. Do you think the price is reasonable for the age and condition of the bag? Are the watermarks a deal breaker? Should I go on and look for another deal? Let me know what you think.

Thank you!

My opinion - looks great and those watermarks wouldnt bother me. The patina seems to be a nice honey color so the watermark isn't glaring.

Great price for condition based on what I've been looking at. I would request high resolution photos of the canvas all around to inspect for any tiny cracks in the canvas. Cell phones these days have options in the camera to adjust resolution if they only have a camera phone.

Thanks for that. I am planning to see the bag in person this coming weekend. I will definitely check on cracking. Just want to know by now if it is worth the 2hr driving to meet the seller. Lol!

By the way, may I know what causes cracking on canvas? Is it due to age of the bag? I am worried that if I purchase a vintage it will eventually crack soon as I have it.

Ohhh. Yes! She looks very pretty and that price is what I would expect to pay for the condition as I've been researching my own for a while now. That's great you can give I the smell test in person!! That's been my biggest hold up in buying one... given the age of most of them I'm so worried they'll come with a stranger odor. Keep us posted !

What's

I will keep you guys posted. Have not tried any noe in person. Hope it fits my petite frame of 5 flat height! Thank you very much

Not necessarily. In older bags It's often due to the way it's been stored. For instance I went to look at a vintage speedy in person, which had clearly been stored folded for many years. Well, as I examined very close in the bottom areas along the fold lines, I found teeny tiny cracks. Being that the older canvas was thicker it wasn't as pliable, so the constant folding seemed to put stress on the canvas. If your bag has been stored stuffed and upright, it's likely to be safe. In newer bags such as the artsy which has known cracking issues it's more so from use, too much stress in the bag, and some say deodorant transfer from under arm/shoulder carry.

Yikes! Should check on that thoroughly! Thank you for the information.

The bag condition is actually incredibly good. No cracks on the leather either, so you wouldn't have to get it replace eventually after couple years. I've also managed to get watermarks out of my noe multiple times now. First time after I've purchased my vintage(92') and second time after our snow storm here. I have to get it out again as we're in rainstorm season but this time I won't bother until the summer comes.
Since you're in USA, I would recommend you to look into Kiwi saddle soap and cadillac lexar leather conditioner as it's worked for me. But keep in mind to be cautious on any kind of restoration works you do on vintage pieces.(your own risk, I just recommend what worked for me).

I wouldn't worry about water marks. There are numerous ways to get the water marks "evened out". I purchased a Noe GM from 1994 and a MC Petit Noe and the bottom of those went from horrendous to a beautiful even colour!! It will happen with a little love and elbow grease!

I am yet to check the condition of the bag in person but yes based on the pictures the leather seems to be in excellent condition. I am actually not from US so I do not know if the products you've mentioned are available in my country. I will check. Thanks for the recommendation :)

Good to know there is a way to even out the watermarks. When I asked Lovin My Bags and showed to them the picture they told me that it is permanent but I have not thought of making the marks even to disguise! Ty!
