Today Rhubarb read several disturbing news articles.

Then asked me why a young man hurt an unconscious woman? Why did 50 people die in a nightclub? Etc.

Sometimes, bear, there are no good answers.

About bad things.

All we can do is cuddle near to one another.

Share a warm scarf, watch the cold rain fall.

And hope for better. So much better.

Tomorrow.

yes rhubarb, luckily for us and bears like you, there is always hope because without it we would be utterly lost

Rhubarb & Jimmy the lizard were protesting lost tpf photos.
With their confused absence. After format change.
But, those returned.:yahoo:
And so follows bear.

Thanks for support, encouraging him back here.
Bear has tea on map_resized.jpg
Hiatus was spent "helping" me with trip plans.
Translated as sitting on map, spilling tea over Wellington & scrawling post-it notes in green marker.

Today, adipose bag charm joined the helpfulness brigade.
And immediately staked claim to sugar bowl.

Jimmy, as always, gnawed on spoon handle.
And bragged that his far-distant cousin might be a tuatara.
So I should give him more jammie biscuits.
Out of respect.

Glad that Rhubarb and Jimmy are back! [emoji322]
It looks like bear and reptile were busy planing holidays. Yay! More adventures on the way. [emoji6]

PS: They should keep a close look on Mr. Adipose. Fat cells on a sugar trip are no fun. [emoji3]

Today Rhubarb decided to help with my d.i.y. project.
So he donned some gloves & baseball cap.
Grabbed new utility shovel.
Then sat beside an orange bucket in the shade.
Because, Jimmy the lizard explained, "That's what all the professionals do."

Project ran into further complications,
thanks to mysterious lizard labor fees.
For hours spent laying inert & supervising.
Written as messy "payment due!" bills, on backs of stained home improvement center receipts.
Then stuck to my water cooler.

This picture is too funny to find words for it. [emoji23]
Rhubarb and Jimmy are very welcome to come over to take a look at the construction works at my office. Last week they wanted to shut down all toilets in the whole building. [emoji15]
A bit of professional bear and lizard supervising might work wonders.

They eat quite a few sandwiches throughout day.
And bear likes to flush things down toilets.
To watch swirling water.
So not much help keeping loos operational.:hrmm:
Your construction workers are a constant source of bizarre antics, too.
But in a less adorable way.:annoyed:
Sorry.

Hehehe. You have no idea how the toilets look like at the moment... Bear and lizard could not do worse....

remembrance poppy bear_resized.jpg
Today Rhubarb, Jimmy the lizard & all of us Remember.

"In Flanders Fields," written during the First World War by Canadian physician Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Flanders_Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Ladies, meet Howard.
He is an elusive American Christmas bear.
He appeared one year whilst we were setting up holiday decorations.
No one knows how he happened to come to live here, but none the less, he would like to join the club. View attachment 3545601
Howard is a very helpful bear.
This morning we have been very busy with household chores.
